Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had stated that “NEET UG would be conducted as a computer-based test from 2027.” This decision comes after the NEET UG 2026 exam was cancelled on May 12, 2026, after originally being held on May 3, 2026, and then re-held on June 21, 2026, due to allegations of paper leaks and other discrepancies.

The NEET Result 2026 was declared on July 16, 2026, with the final answer key released by NTA. The OMR answer sheets and recorded responses for NEET UG 2026 were released on July 13, 2026. The counselling process for NEET 2026 was expected to begin towards the end of July or early August 2026. The move to CBT aims to enhance the security and integrity of the examination process.

Syllabus and Expected Cut-Offs

The syllabus for NEET UG 2027 will cover Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology) from Class 11 and 12, primarily based on NCERT textbooks. This aligns with the pattern of previous years, ensuring consistency in the academic preparation required from candidates.
