Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) has officially opened the online portal for its Four-Year Undergraduate (FYUG) programmes for the Academic Year 2026–27 (July 2026 Session). Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, NSOU offers multi-disciplinary undergraduate programmes with flexible exit and entry options across Arts, Commerce, and Science disciplines.

Eligible candidates seeking admission into distance learning degree courses can now register online via the dedicated university portal at ug.wbnsouadmissions.com. The online application window commenced on July 24, 2026, and will remain active until August 31, 2026.

Who Can Apply for NSOU FYUG Admission 2026? (Eligibility Criteria)

Candidates must meet the course-specific eligibility requirements prescribed by NSOU before applying for FYUG Admission 2026.

General Qualification Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized board/council, including 10+2 vocational courses.
B.A. (Honours) Passed 10+2 or equivalent in any stream.
B.Com (Honours) Passed 10+2 or equivalent in Commerce, Science, or Arts.
B.Sc. Mathematics (Hons) Passed 10+2 or equivalent with pass marks in Mathematics.
B.Sc. Chemistry (Hons) Passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 40% marks in Chemistry and pass marks in Mathematics.
B.Sc. Zoology (Hons) Passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% marks in Biology.
B.Sc. Botany (Hons) Passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 40% marks in Biology.
B.Sc. Geography (Hons) Passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% marks in Geography.

NEP Exit Options: Students completing 1 year (48 credits) earn a UG Certificate, 2 years (92 credits) earn a UG Diploma, 3 years (136 credits) earn a UG Degree, and 4 years earn a UG Honours Degree.

NSOU FYUG Admission 2026 Application Fee

The total amount payable at the time of admission consists of 1/4th of the annual programme fee plus applicable mandatory administrative charges. For the 2026–27 session, the Prospectus Fee of ₹150 has been waived by the university.

How to Apply for NSOU FYUG Admission 2026?

Applicants must follow these sequential steps to fill and submit the online application form correctly:

  1. New Applicant Registration: Visit ug.wbnsouadmissions.com and click on New Registration. Provide basic contact details, active email, and mobile number to generate application credentials.

  2. Dashboard Login & Form Filling: Log in using your credentials and enter your personal, address, and educational qualification details accurately.

  3. Select Course & Study Centre: Choose your desired FYUG Honours course and pick your preferred Learner Support Centre (LSC) / Study Centre.

  4. Document Uploading: Upload clear, scanned copies of your photo, signature, age proof, and qualifying marksheets as per size instructions.

  5. Fee Payment: Pay the admission fee online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI gateway. (Offline payment via Bank Challan is also available during banking hours).

  6. Submit UGC-DEB ID: Obtain your DEB ID from the official UGC-DEB portal and link/verify it on the admission dashboard before September 7, 2026.

  7. Download Confirmation & Token: Save the final application confirmation page, payment receipt, and provisional enrollment token for future reference.

Documents Required for NSOU FYUG Registration 2026

Keep the following scanned original documents ready in JPG/PNG format before beginning the online registration process:

  • Passport-size recent color photograph

  • Scanned signature of the applicant

  • Proof of Date of Birth (Madhyamik / Class 10 Admit Card or Birth Certificate)

  • Class 10 (Madhyamik) Marksheet and Passing Certificate

  • Class 12 (Higher Secondary) Marksheet and Passing Certificate

  • Category/Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PWD), if applicable

  • Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Passport)

  • Employer Certificate / No Objection Certificate (NOC) if employed

NSOU FYUG Admission 2026: Selection Process

  • Merit & Eligibility Screening: Admission to NSOU FYUG courses is direct and merit-based on qualifying examination marks. There is no entrance test required for regular FYUG degree courses.

  • Document Verification: Applications, uploaded documents, and subject eligibility are verified online by the university verification team.

  • Seat Allotment: Confirmation is subject to successful online fee receipt, document verification, and valid DEB ID verification.

Important Instructions for Applicants

  • Mandatory DEB ID: As per UGC distance education guidelines, every applicant must generate and verify a DEB ID from the UGC-DEB portal. Admission will not be finalized without a valid DEB ID.

  • Learner Facilitation Centres (LFCs): Candidates who need assistance with online application, document uploading, or course selection can visit their nearest NSOU Learner Facilitation Centre.

  • No Offline Forms: Hard copies of forms are not sold or accepted at the main campus; the entire application process is strictly online.

  • Reservation Policy: Category relaxations and seat reservations apply as per West Bengal Government norms.
