NTA NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund: Final Deadline Today at 11:50 PM

NTA NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund: Final Deadline Today at 11:50 PM; Update Your Bank Details Immediately

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will officially close the final correction window for the NEET UG 2026 application fee refund today, July 7, 2026. Medical aspirants who are eligible for the fee refund must verify or update their banking credentials on the official portal before 11:50 PM IST.

This refund has been initiated by the government following the cancellation of the original May 3 examination over paper leak allegations and the subsequent conduction of the Re-NEET on June 21, 2026. The NTA has committed to providing a full refund of the examination fee to all registered candidates.

If you fail to confirm or correct your bank details before tonight’s cut-off time, your refund request may face severe delays or permanent non-processing.

Why Has the NEET UG 2026 Refund Portal Reopened?

During the initial registration phases, a massive number of applicants—especially those from rural locations—used common cyber cafés, coaching institutions, or Common Service Centres (CSCs) to submit their forms. Consequently, the registration fees were deducted from the bank accounts of those third-party owners rather than the students or their parents.

To ensure the money safely reaches the actual students, the NTA launched a dedicated Bank Account Details Confirmation/Updation module. This tool allows applicants to explicitly state where they want their funds transferred.

NEET UG 2026 Refund Amount: Category-Wise Breakdown

The NTA is processing a direct bank transfer of the complete registration amount without making any major deductions. However, do note that any bank processing charges or GST applied during your initial transaction will not be part of the refund.

The category-wise refund structures stand as follows:

Candidate Category Refund Amount (INR)
General ₹1,700
OBC-NCL / EWS ₹1,600
SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender ₹1,000
NRI Candidates ₹9,500

Crucial NTA Advisory for Medical Aspirants

  • Strict Account Ownership: The bank account provided must strictly be active and stand directly in the candidate’s name, their parent’s name, or a joint account consisting of the candidate. Refunds will not be sent to random third-party or cyber-café accounts.

  • No Extensions: The NTA has clarified that no further representations or modifications will be entertained after 11:50 PM tonight.

  • Beware of Scams: The NTA never calls or texts applicants to demand passwords or financial OTPs. Use only the official portal for updates.

If you encounter persistent technical glitches while uploading your financial information on the portal, contact the official NTA Help Desk instantly at 011-40759000 or drop an urgent email containing your details to neetug2026@nta.ac.in. Do not wait until the last hour, as server traffic will likely spike.
