About Patliputra University
Patliputra University, Patna was established on 18th March 2018 by the order of the Government of Bihar. The university was created to cater to the higher education needs of students from Patna and Nalanda districts of Bihar. All colleges in these districts (except those attached to Patna University) fall under the jurisdiction of Patliputra University.
The university has jurisdiction over 25 constituent colleges, two government girls colleges, three minority colleges, and numerous affiliated colleges. Many of these colleges run university-approved post-graduate centres in various subjects besides skill-oriented courses in vocational and technical/professional areas.
PPU is recognized by UGC and has been accredited with Grade B by NAAC with a CGPA of 2.57 out of 4. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs across various faculties including Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Law, and Agriculture.
The university follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for its undergraduate programs with a 4-year duration (8 semesters).
