City Intimation vs. Admit Card: What’s the Difference?
It is important to note that the City Intimation Slip is NOT the Admit Card.
-
City Intimation Slip: Provides only the name of the city, the date of the exam, and the shift timing. It does not contain the name of the specific exam center or the detailed address.
-
Admit Card (Hall Ticket): This is the mandatory document required for entry into the exam hall. The SSC will release the detailed Admit Cards approximately 3 to 4 days before your specific exam date. For example, if your exam is on April 27, you can expect your admit card by April 23 or 24.
New ‘Week Preference’ Feature
In a first-of-its-kind move for 2026, the SSC introduced a preference-based scheduling system. Candidates were given a window to choose their preferred exam week.
The commission has attempted to allot dates based on these preferences to minimize travel stress for students.
Important Guidelines for Candidates
-
Check Early: Avoid the last-minute rush as the server might get slow due to high traffic.
-
Verify Details: Ensure your name and registration details on the slip match your application.
-
Travel Planning: Since the exam is being held across various phases, use the city intimation to book your train or bus tickets immediately, especially if the allotted city is far from your hometown.
-
Mandatory Documents: On the day of the exam, you must carry a printed copy of the Admit Card (not the city slip) and a valid photo ID (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID).
The SSC GD recruitment aims to fill over 25,000 posts, and the competition is expected to be fierce. With the city details now out, aspirants are advised to focus on final revisions and mock tests to secure their spot in the paramilitary forces
