Seat Acceptance Fee Details

Candidates allotted seats under UCEED 2026 must pay the prescribed seat acceptance fee to confirm their admission.

The fee structure is as follows:

  • General, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates: тВ╣60,000
  • SC, ST and PwD candidates: тВ╣15,000

The amount paid as the seat acceptance fee will be adjusted against the institute admission fee at the time of final admission. Failure to pay the fee before the deadline will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.

Understanding Freeze and Float Options

During the seat acceptance process, candidates are required to choose either the ‘Freeze’ or ‘Float’ option.

Freeze Option

Candidates selecting the Freeze option accept the currently allotted institute and do not wish to participate in further rounds of counselling.

Float Option

Candidates selecting the Float option accept the currently allotted seat but remain eligible for upgradation to a higher preferred institute in subsequent rounds, subject to availability of seats.

Students are advised to carefully evaluate their choices before selecting either option as it may impact their admission prospects in later rounds.

Withdrawal Process for UCEED 2026

Candidates who have accepted seats but later decide not to continue with the admission process can withdraw their seats during the withdrawal period.

According to IIT Bombay, the final withdrawal window for Round 4 will remain open from July 4 to July 6, 2026, till 6:00 PM. Eligible candidates who withdraw within the prescribed timeline will receive a refund after deduction of processing charges as per the official policy.

Under the refund rules, General, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates may receive a refund of тВ╣55,000, while SC, ST and PwD candidates may receive тВ╣10,000 after deduction of the processing fee.

UCEED 2026 Admission Process

The UCEED counselling and seat allotment process is conducted online by IIT Bombay for admission to BDes programmes offered by participating institutions.

Seat allotment is prepared on the basis of:

  • Candidate’s All India Rank (AIR) in UCEED 2026
  • Category of the candidate
  • Institute preferences submitted during counselling
  • Availability of seats

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website and their registered email addresses for important updates regarding counselling, seat allotment and admission-related announcements.

Important Advice for Candidates

Students who have been allotted seats in Round 4 should not wait until the last day to complete the payment process. Heavy traffic on the website near the deadline may lead to technical difficulties.

Candidates should ensure that:

  • All login credentials are readily available.
  • Online banking facilities are active.
  • Payment receipts are downloaded and saved.
  • Required admission documents are kept ready.
  • The official website is checked regularly for fresh notifications.

With the revised deadline now in place, candidates have additional time to confirm their admission. However, they must complete the payment process before July 3, 2026, to secure their allotted seats and continue in the UCEED 2026 admission process.
