CNLU to Begin CLAT 2027 Registration Soon: Check Dates, Eligibility & Documents Required

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is all set to initiate the online application process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027. Law aspirants aiming to secure admission into premier 5-year integrated undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs across top National Law Universities in India must complete their registrations through the official web portal at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

With the official notification officially released, law candidates are advised to keep all necessary personal, academic, and category documents ready before the application window opens.

CLAT 2027 Important Dates & Key Schedule

According to the official schedule released by the Consortium, the CLAT 2027 entrance examination is scheduled for December 6, 2026 (Sunday). The test will be administered offline in a pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM across multiple examination centers nationwide.

CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Before proceeding with the application form, candidates must carefully verify the minimum academic requirements set by the Consortium.

1. Undergraduate (UG) Course (5-Year Integrated LLB)

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. Students appearing for their board exams in March/April 2027 are also eligible to apply.

• Minimum Marks:

  • General / OBC / NRI / PwD / EWS: Minimum 45% aggregate marks.

  • SC / ST: Minimum 40% aggregate marks.

• Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT UG 2027.

2. Postgraduate (PG) Course (1-Year LLM)

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold an LLB degree or an equivalent law degree from a recognized university. Candidates appearing in their final year degree exams are also eligible.

• Minimum Marks:

  • General / OBC / NRI / PwD / EWS: Minimum 50% aggregate marks.

  • SC / ST: Minimum 45% aggregate marks.

• Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for CLAT PG 2027.

Documents Required for CLAT 2027 Registration

Candidates must upload clear, self-attested scanned copies of the required documents during the online application process. The required checklist includes:

1. Passport Photograph: Recent colored passport-size photograph with a plain background (JPEG format).

2. Signature: Clear scanned signature signed on plain white paper (JPEG format).

3. Class 10 Marksheet/Certificate: Required as proof of Date of Birth (PDF/JPEG).

4. Class 12 Marksheet: Mandatory if already passed; optional for candidates appearing in 2027.

5. Category Certificate: Issued by competent authority for SC, ST, or OBC applicants (if applicable).

6. Domicile / Special Category Certificates: Relevant certificates for PwD, EWS, BPL, or state domicile reservation claims.

Filling out the CLAT application form involves the following steps:

1. New Registration: Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in, click on “CLAT 2027”, and register using a mobile number and email ID.

2. Account Verification: Verify the OTP received on the registered mobile number to generate login credentials.

3. Fill Application Details: Enter personal info, permanent communication address, and academic qualifications.

4. Select Exam Cities: Choose three exam center preferences in order of priority.

5. Upload Documents: Attach the scanned copy of your photo, signature, and category certificates in specified file sizes.

6. Application Fee Payment: Pay the non-refundable registration fee online using Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

7. Submit & Print: Verify all entered details, submit the application, and save a copy of the confirmation receipt for future reference.

• SC / ST / BPL Candidates: ₹3,500
