HP NEET PG 2026 round 1 counselling registration deadline extended

Atal Medical and Research University, Himachal Pradesh (AMRUHP) has extended the Round 1 NEET PG 2026 counselling registration deadline for MD, MS, and DNB admissions in state medical colleges. An official notice regarding this extension was issued on October 24, 2026, on the university’s official website, amruhp.ac.in.

The extension aims to provide late applicants with an additional opportunity to register and to enhance overall seat use for postgraduate medical courses. This decision affects candidates seeking admission to state-quota seats in both government and private medical institutions across Himachal Pradesh.

Revised Registration Schedule and Eligibility

The registration window for Round 1, which initially commenced on October 22, 2026, is now scheduled to close on October 26, 2026. This adjustment follows an earlier original schedule where online registration and fee payment were open from October 12 to October 21, 2026. Candidates are required to have qualified NEET PG 2026 to be eligible for this counselling process.

Eligibility criteria also include meeting the domicile and reservation rules established by the state of Himachal Pradesh. The counselling specifically covers state-quota seats in various institutions, including Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, and Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital (MMU), Kumarhatti, Solan, among others.

Counselling Process and Required Documents

The entire registration process for HP NEET PG 2026 Round 1 counselling is conducted online via the official AMRUHP ERP portal at amruhp.ac.in. Candidates are advised to keep all necessary documents ready in scanned PDF or JPG format for submission. The registration fee is non-refundable once submitted.

Required documents for registration include the NEET PG 2026 admit card and scorecard, MBBS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, and a permanent registration certificate from a State Medical Council. In addition, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, a Himachal Pradesh bonafide or domicile certificate (if applicable), a valid category certificate for reserved candidates, a recent passport-size photograph, and a scanned signature are mandatory.

Original Round 1 Schedule and Future Rounds

The original Round 1 counselling schedule had specific timelines for various events, which have been impacted by the registration extension. For instance, the original choice filling window was from October 13 to October 22, 2026, with choice locking from October 21 (4 PM) to October 22 (10 AM), 2026. The seat allotment processing was originally scheduled for October 22 to October 23, 2026, and the result declaration on October 24, 2026. The original reporting and joining period was set from October 26 to November 2, 2026.

AMRUHP is expected to release a revised schedule for the merit list display, choice filling window, seat allotment result, and further counselling rounds soon. The Round 2 counselling for leftover seats is anticipated to commence in November 2026. The NEET PG 2026 exam was held on August 30, 2026, and its results were declared on September 24, 2026.
