Academic eligibility criteria vary across the entry channels established by IIIT Hyderabad. Candidates seeking admission through the UGEE channel must achieve a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12 or its equivalent examination.

For lateral entry via LEEE, applicants must have completed 2 years (4 semesters) of an undergraduate B.E. or B.Tech program at another recognized university. Polytechnic diploma holders are not eligible for B.Tech lateral entry at IIIT Hyderabad. Candidates applying via DASA UG must have completed Class 11 and 12 outside India or hold a foreign passport.

B.Tech CSE Entrance Exams

Selection for Dual Degree programs under the UGEE channel involves a computer-based examination comprising two sections: the Subject Proficiency Test (SUPR) and the Research Aptitude Test (REAP). SUPR tests fundamental proficiency across 50 single-mark questions in 60 minutes with no negative marking. REAP evaluates research aptitude over 120 minutes with 50 questions worth 2 marks each and a negative marking of 0.5 marks for wrong answers. The final admission offer for UGEE candidates depends entirely on panel interview performance.

The Lateral Entry Entrance Examination (LEEE) comprises a 60-minute Aptitude Test covering General Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Basic Mathematics, followed by a 120-minute Subject Test. LEEE carries 25% negative marking for incorrect choices, and shortlisted candidates must qualify an online interview.
