KIITEE 2026 Phase 1 Exam Starts Today; Phase 2 Registration Now Open

The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) has officially commenced the first phase of its Entrance Examination (KIITEE 2026) today, April 16, 2026.
As thousands of students across the country head to designated computer-based testing centers, the university has also opened the gates for Phase 2 applications, providing a critical second chance for those who missed the initial window or wish to improve their standing.
KIITEE 2026 Phase 1: What You Need to Know
The Phase 1 examinations are scheduled to run from April 16 to April 20, 2026. This national-level entrance test is the primary gateway for admission into a vast array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including B.Tech, Law, Management, and Biotechnology.
The exam follows a structured format designed to test core competencies. For the flagship B.Tech program, the paper consists of 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) divided into Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The total duration is 150 minutes (2.5 hours). In terms of the marking scheme, candidates receive +4 marks for every correct answer, while -1 mark is deducted for every incorrect response.

How to Apply for Phase 2
The registration process is entirely online and streamlined for ease of use. If you are looking to secure a seat at KIIT, follow these simple steps:

New Registration: Click on the “Online Application” tab. You will need a valid mobile number, email ID, and Aadhaar number.

Fill the Form: Enter your academic details and select your preferred course and exam center cities.

Document Upload: You must upload a recent passport-sized photograph, your signature, and your Class 10th mark sheet/certificate.

Submission: After a final review, submit the form. Since there is no fee, the process ends with a confirmation page which you should print for your records.
Eligibility Criteria Recap
Before applying, candidates should ensure they meet the specific requirements for their chosen programs.

For B.Tech (4 Years): A pass in 10+2 (Class 12) in 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026. Candidates need at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Additionally, candidates should have been born on or after July 1, 2005.

For B.Arch: Applicants must have 50% marks in PCM and a valid NATA score.

For Law (B.A. LL.B/BBA LL.B): A minimum of 45% marks in the 10+2 examination in any stream.

For PG Courses (MCA/M.Sc): Generally requires a relevant Bachelor’s degree with 50% to 60% marks depending on the specialization.
Looking Ahead: Results and Phase 3
KIIT follows a rapid evaluation cycle. Results for the Phase 1 exams are expected to be announced by April 28, 2026. Following the results, the university will conduct online counseling where seats are allotted based on the rank achieved in the merit list.
For those who might face scheduling conflicts with other national exams, KIIT has also planned a Phase 3 session. The applications for Phase 3 will remain open until June 30, 2026, with exams tentatively scheduled for early July. This multi-phase approach ensures that every deserving student has a fair shot at joining one of India’s leading private universities.
