MHT CET 2026 April 20 PCM Exam LIVE: Shift 1 Ends with Moderate Difficulty, Shift 2 Entry Begins

The MHT CET April 20 Shift 1 was moderate but lengthy in Maths; Shift 2 candidates must report by 12:30 PM. Ensure you follow the strict dress code and carry a physical hall ticket and ID to avoid being barred from entry.

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell is currently conducting the final day of the MHT CET 2026 PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) group exams for the first session.

As Shift 1 concludes, thousands of students are now preparing to enter the exam centers for the afternoon session.

Today marks a critical milestone for engineering aspirants across Maharashtra. With the PCM session wrapping up today, the focus will soon shift to the PCB (Pharmacy/Biology) group exams, which are scheduled to commence tomorrow, April 21.

MHT CET 2026 April 20 PCM Exam Shift 1 Analysis: Moderate but Lengthy

The morning shift, which ran from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, has just concluded. Early feedback from students suggests that the paper followed a “Moderate” difficulty level, consistent with the trends seen earlier this week.

  • Physics & Chemistry: Most students found these sections to be straightforward, with a heavy emphasis on Class 12 formulas and textbook concepts.

  • Mathematics: As expected, the Maths section was the “rank-decider.” While the questions were solvable, many candidates reported that the calculations were time-consuming and lengthy.

  • Weightage: In line with official guidelines, approximately 80% of the questions were based on the Class 12 syllabus, while 20% covered Class 11 topics.

MHT CET 2026 April 20 Shift 2 Schedule & Reporting Time

For students appearing in the afternoon session, timing is everything. The CET Cell maintains a strict “No Late Entry” policy.

Event Timing
Shift 2 Reporting Starts 12:30 PM
Gate Closing Time 1:45 PM
Login to Read Instructions 1:50 PM
Examination Starts 2:00 PM
Examination Ends 5:00 PM

Pro-Tip: If you are traveling in major cities like Mumbai or Pune, account for afternoon traffic and aim to reach the center at least 60 minutes before the gate closes.

Official Exam Guidelines & Dress Code

To ensure a smooth process and avoid any last-minute panic at the frisking counter, students must adhere to the following rules:

1. Mandatory Documents

You will not be allowed inside the hall without:

  • A physical Colour Printout of your MHT CET 2026 Admit Card.

  • A Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, or Voter ID).

  • Note: Digital copies on mobile phones are strictly prohibited.

2. Dress Code for Males & Females

The authorities have specified a simple dress code to speed up the security check.

  • Wear: Light-colored, half-sleeved T-shirts or shirts. Plain trousers or jeans are allowed. Footwear should be open, such as sandals or slippers.

  • Avoid: Full-sleeved clothes, hoodies, or anything with large buttons or many pockets. Shoes are generally discouraged; if worn, they must be thin-soled.

  • Accessories: Watches (both analog and digital), jewelry, metallic hairpins, and belts with large buckles are strictly forbidden.

  • Customary Attire: Candidates wearing religious attire (like a Hijab or Turban) are advised to reach the center at least 1.5 hours early for mandatory security screening.

3. Prohibited Items

Leave your bags, mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, and even log tables outside. The centers do not always provide a storage facility, so it’s best to leave valuables with a guardian.

What’s Next?

As the PCM group wraps up today, the CET Cell is already geared up for the PCB Group exams starting April 21. Results for both sessions are expected to be announced in June 2026 on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org.

We wish all the Shift 2 candidates the very best of luck! Keep your cool, manage your time wisely, and remember—there is no negative marking, so try to attempt all questions.
