College Background and Vision
Alaka Mahabidyalaya was founded on August 24, 1979, by villagers from Bagalpur, Balia, Birabarapatana, Sadhei, Dandilo, Basantpur, Jaysole, and Rambhadeipur. Sri Gangadhar Rath, then Advocate General of Odisha, played a role in the college’s early development.
The Principal of Alaka Mahabidyalaya stated, “Established with the vision of enlightening young minds in this region, our college caters to both Higher Secondary (+2) and Undergraduate (Graduation) education in Arts, Science and Commerce streams.” The Principal further added, “We believe in empowering students from all walks of life, especially those from underserved backgrounds, by making quality education accessible and affordable.”
