The Central University of Haryana (CUH) has initiated PhD admissions for the 2026-27 July cycle. Prospective candidates can apply for various doctoral programmes offered by the university, which is located in the Mahendergarh district of Haryana.

The university, fully funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC), is known for offering 91 academic programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels. It holds an ‘A’ Grade accreditation from the NAAC, awarded in August 2023, and is ranked among the top 150-200 universities in the NIRF ranking.

PHD Admission Pathways and Eligibility

Admission to PhD programmes at the Central University of Haryana can be secured either through valid NTA NET scores or by appearing for a university entrance examination. Candidates who are qualified in UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET/JRF, GPAT, GATE, CEED, or hold an M.Phil. degree are exempted from the university’s entrance examination.

For candidates who undergo the university entrance examination, the admission procedure assigns a 70% weightage to the entrance examination score and a 30% weightage to the interview performance. The minimum eligibility for PhD admission includes a Master’s degree obtained after a four-year or eight-semester bachelor’s degree, or a two-year master’s degree following a three-year bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade. For those with a four-year bachelor’s (Honours/Research) degree, a minimum of 75% marks is required for PhD admission. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate marks is provided for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, and EWS candidates.

Previous Admission Cycle Details

For the PhD Admission 2025-26 cycle, online registration commenced on 29 August 2025, and concluded on 17 September 2025. The registration fee for that cycle was ₹1000, which was a one-time, non-refundable payment. However, SC, ST, PwD, Women, and Transgender candidates were exempted from paying this fee.
