Understanding CUET PG Cut-Offs and Admissions
The National Testing Agency (NTA) does not publish official cut-off lists; instead, individual participating universities issue their own cut-offs to determine eligibility for admission. These cut-off marks are dynamic, influenced by several factors including the total number of test takers, the number of available seats for a specific course, the difficulty level of the examination, the candidate’s category, and the performance of all candidates.
Previous year’s CUET cut-off scores offer insights into the competitive landscape and serve as a benchmark for prospective applicants. For instance, the expected CUET PG cut-off for top Delhi University (DU) universities for MA, M.Sc, and M.Com programs is projected to be between 190-210 out of 300. The OBC category cut-off is predicted to range from 180-200. A score exceeding 700 is generally considered excellent in the CUET exam, while an average score typically falls between 400 and 600.
Expected Cut-Offs for Top Universities
Admission to top DU affiliated colleges for the unreserved category typically requires CUET PG scores between 220 and 250, though this varies annually. Top DU colleges generally look for scores above 200, while mid-tier colleges might accept scores in the range of 140-170+. Universities such as Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) are among the institutions accepting CUET PG scores. JNU utilises its own scoring formula, with provided score ranges serving as indicative estimates.
For the 2026 academic session, seven B.Ed colleges are listed as accepting CUET PG scores for admission. These include institutions like Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University, Pondicherry University, Alliance University, SRM University, Tata Institute of Social Science University, IIIT Lucknow, GLA University, Central University of Jammu, Central University of Haryana, Chandigarh University, Galgotias University, Kurukshetra University, Maharshi Valmiki College of Education New Delhi, and NGBU.
