Who is Eligible to Apply?

Before you fill out the form, please make sure you meet the following conditions set by the DoE:

  • Delhi Residency: This facility is strictly open to students who reside in Delhi. You will need to show a valid proof of residence.

  • For Class 10 Admission: You must have passed Class 9 as a regular student from a recognized board or school during the previous academic session.

  • For Class 12 Admission: You must have passed Class 11 from a recognized school with the specific subject combination required for your chosen stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts).

  • Age and Marks Relaxations: There are relaxations in minimum marks and age rules for reserved categories and specially-abled students as per Delhi government norms.

Important Note: Admissions under this cycle (CAT-II) apply only to regular government schools. This process does not cover CM Shri Schools, Schools of Excellence (SoEs), or Schools of Specialised Excellence (SoSEs).

The Step-by-Step Admission Process

The admission process is straightforward but requires you to follow chronological steps.

1. Collect and Fill the Form: Deadline: July 25.

Obtain the application form directly from your nearest designated Delhi government school starting July 11. Fill in your details accurately, select your preferred subjects, and submit it back to the school before July 25.

2. Verification by School Head: By July 27.

The Head of the School (HoS) will verify your documents and eligibility criteria. If everything is correct, they will forward your application to the District Deputy Director of Education (DDE) by July 27 to generate your admit card.

3. Collect Your Admit Card: On July 30.

Visit the same school where you submitted your application form on July 30 to collect your printed admit card. This card will contain your roll number and exam center details.

4. Appear for the admission test: August 1 (10 AM – 12 PM).

Report to your assigned exam center on August 1. You will have exactly two hours to complete the Common Admission Test (CAT-II).

5. Check Results and School Allotment: August 5 onwards.

The test results come out on August 5. The District DDE will then assign a school to you based on your exam rank, the vacancy in nearby schools, your subject combination preferences, and how close you live to the school.

How Will Seats Be Allotted?

You will get admission based on your score in the Common Admission Test. However, the exact school you get depends on three major things:

  1. Vacant Seats: The number of open seats remaining in the schools in your district.

  2. Subject Stream: Whether the school offers the specific combination of subjects you selected (especially for Class 12).

  3. Proximity: The DoE prefers placing students in schools closest to their permanent residence to cut down on travel time.

Make sure to keep your family income certificates, residence proof, and previous mark sheets ready for final verification once the results are announced. The entire admission process, including final document checks and student ID creation, must wrap up by August 31, 2026.
