Delhi University SOL admission 2026 ends October 13: apply for UG, PG courses without CUET

The Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (DU SOL) is nearing the end of its admission process for undergraduate, postgraduate, and skill courses for the academic session 2026-27. Prospective students have until October 13, 2026, to complete their applications, a deadline set by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) and University Grants Commission (UGC).

Admissions are being conducted online through the official DU SOL website, sol.du.ac.in, and the undergraduate admission portal, ugadmission.oldcdu.ac.in. The School of Open Learning, established in 1962, is a pioneer in distance education in India and currently serves over 4,00,000 students across various disciplines.

Application Process and Eligibility

The online application process for DU SOL is active, and candidates can register for their chosen programmes. A key feature of DU SOL admissions is that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is not mandatory for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate Open and Distance Learning (ODL) courses. However, for postgraduate courses, scoring qualifying marks in CUET PG may give preference to candidates over non-CUET applicants.

There is no seat limit for admissions to programmes offered by the School of Open Learning, provided candidates fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria for their desired programmes. The application process is considered complete only after the payment of the admission fee.

Required documents for DU SOL registration 2026 include a passport-size photograph, scanned signature, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, EWS certificate (if applicable), Disability certificate (if applicable), and ID proof. Foreign students residing in India need approval from the Deputy Dean, Foreign Students Advisor, DU, to apply. Students from Nepal and Bhutan can be admitted to distance learning programmes subject to eligibility and approval, while students from other foreign countries with a student visa are only permitted to pursue regular/full-time courses.

Programmes Offered and Curriculum Alignment

DU SOL offers many courses for the 2026-27 academic session, including 18 undergraduate programmes, 10 postgraduate programmes, and various skill courses and foreign language certificate/diploma courses. The Department of Distance & Continuing Education, School of Open Learning, Campus of Open Learning, University of Delhi, has adopted the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework-2022 (UGCF-2022) under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The curriculum and syllabus for DU SOL programmes are consistent with those offered across the University of Delhi.

For postgraduate courses, eligibility generally requires a UG degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognised university. DU SOL is UGC-DEB-approved and holds a NAAC A++ grade. The institution promotes lifelong learning through its open, distance, and online learning model, with a curriculum aligned with NEP 2020 and designed to be industry-relevant.

For assistance with the admission process, DU SOL has functional Admission Helpdesk and Grievance Admissions 2026-27 Helplines. These helplines operate from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 AM and 05:00 PM. Students are advised to regularly check their student dashboard, email, and the admission website (ugadmission.oldcdu.ac.in) for all communications, updates, and schedules related to their applications.

While Hansraj College has established a Facilitation Centre to assist CUET applicants with the admission process, it is important to reiterate that CUET is not mandatory for DU SOL admissions for UG ODL courses.
