Challenge Scope and Participation Categories

The Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026 encourages participants to identify problems and develop solutions that can be tested, adopted, and scaled. The challenge is open across three distinct categories to ensure broad participation from various educational levels.

The Junior category is designed for school students from Classes 6 to 12. The Technical category targets students enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and polytechnics. The Open category is for undergraduate students and those pursuing higher studies, including postgraduate students and research scholars. Participation in the challenge is institution-led, meaning students cannot register independently. Geographical Reach and Thematic Areas

The SFIC 2026 will be conducted across five states: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. Also, three Union Territories, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, are participating in the initiative. This geographical spread aims to engage a diverse group of innovators from different regions.

Participants can identify problems in many areas, including agriculture, healthcare, education, sustainability, waste management, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cybersecurity, and clean technology. Solutions can be technology-based, product, service, or governance solutions. The challenge is structured around five broad themes:

  • Swachh & Sustainable Bharat
  • Samriddh Annadata, Samriddh Bharat
  • Swasth & Samavesh Bharat
  • Shikshit & Kaushal Bharat
  • Surakshit Bharat

Entries can be submitted under two tracks: Track A for Product or Technology solutions and Track B for Business Model & Governance solutions.

Prize Pool and Support for Innovators

The Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026 offers a substantial prize pool to incentivize innovation. The total prize money for the challenge is Rs 5.4 crore. Individual prizes are structured across the categories, with significant awards for top innovations.

  3. Verify the account using the code sent to the institution’s official email address.
