The Andhra Pradesh Commissionerate of Higher Education has initiated the counselling registration process for AP EDCET 2026, for admission to B.Ed. and B.Ed. Special Education programmes for the academic year 2026-27. The registration window opened on October 5, 2026, and will remain active until October 12, 2026.

Prospective candidates are required to complete their registration through the centralized online admission portal, cap.apcfss.in. This counselling process is being conducted by Acharya Nagarjuna University on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

Counselling Schedule and Key Dates

The AP EDCET 2026 counselling notification was issued on October 1, 2026. Following the registration period, online certificate verification is scheduled to take place from October 6 to October 19, 2026. A dedicated day for special category verification has been set for October 13, 2026.

Candidates will be able to exercise their web options, selecting preferred colleges and courses, from October 14 to October 18, 2026. A window for making changes to these web options will be available on October 19, 2026. The results for Phase 1 seat allotment are slated for release on October 23, 2026, with self-reporting to allotted colleges from October 24 to October 27, 2026. Classes for the new academic year are scheduled to commence on October 24, 2026.

Application Process and Fees

Candidates are required to pay a processing fee during registration. For OC/BC candidates, the fee is Rs 1,250, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates must pay Rs 650. Aadhaar-based authentication is mandatory for all candidates submitting applications directly through the CAP portal. The counselling process manages admissions into B.Ed. and B.Ed. Special Education programmes offered by State-funded Universities and their Constituent/Affiliated Colleges in Andhra Pradesh under the Convenor Quota.

Background to AP EDCET 2026

The AP EDCET 2026 entrance exam was conducted on May 8, 2026, as a computer-based test comprising 150 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark, with no negative marking. The results for the exam were released on May 26, 2026. The application window for AP EdCET 2026 had opened on February 11, 2026, with the last date for registration without a late fee being March 15, 2026.

The minimum qualifying marks for AP EdCET 2026 for all candidates, excluding SC/ST categories, were 37 out of the total marks, representing 25%. There are no qualifying marks for ranking for SC/ST category candidates. The Convener quota accounts for 75% of the total seats, with the remaining 25% covered by the Management quota.

Centralized Admission Portal (CAP) Overview

The APCFSS CAP Portal (cap.apcfss.in) is a new centralized online admission platform launched by the Andhra Pradesh Government. It supports admissions into various professional courses through multiple AP Common Entrance Tests (AP CETs). The portal provides a unified platform for registration, certificate verification, web options, seat allotment, and reporting for several CETs, including AP EAPCET, AP ECET, AP ICET, AP PGECET, AP LAWCET, AP EdCET, and AP POLYCET.

The AP EAPCET 2026 Phase-1 Counselling was also conducted through this portal, with registration from July 20 to July 29, 2026. The AP ECET 2026 counselling is currently also being conducted via the APCFSS CAP Portal, streamlining the admission processes across the state.
