AP LAWCET 2026 web options open September 29; check 7 things before filling choices

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has commenced the Phase 1 counselling registration for AP LAWCET 2026, supporting admissions to 3-Year and 5-Year LLB courses in participating law colleges across Andhra Pradesh. Qualified candidates can register online at cap.apcfss.in and cets.apsche.ap.gov.in until September 29, 2026. The web options window is scheduled to open from September 29 to October 2, 2026.

The counselling process, managed by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam on behalf of APSCHE, covers over 7,000 seats across more than 100 participating colleges. Candidates must complete online registration, fee payment, and document upload before proceeding to fill web options. The web options are a critical step, as seat allotment is determined by the chosen colleges and their order of preference.

AP LAWCET 2026 Phase 1 Counselling Schedule

The schedule for AP LAWCET 2026 Phase 1 counselling outlines key dates for registration, verification, web options, and seat allotment. Special category verification was conducted on September 28, 2026, while online certificate verification is ongoing until October 2, 2026. Candidates will have an opportunity to modify their web options on October 3, 2026.

Seat allotment for Phase 1 is slated for October 6, 2026. Following the allotment, candidates are required to report to their respective colleges and commence classes between October 7 and October 9, 2026. Failure to report to an allotted college typically results in the forfeiture of the seat.

Key Considerations for Filling Web Options

Before filling web options, candidates are advised to verify their rank, category, and local status for accuracy. Shortlisting colleges and courses in advance is recommended, taking into account factors such as fees, location, Bar Council of India (BCI) approval, faculty, infrastructure, moot court facilities, and internship opportunities. Previous year cutoff ranks can serve as a guide for college selection, though actual cutoffs may vary annually.

The counselling registration fee is ₹1,000 for OC/BC candidates and ₹500 for SC/ST candidates. Candidates must save and lock their web options before the deadline, as only locked options will be considered for seat allotment. Seat allotment is based on the AP LAWCET rank, category, applicable reservation rules, and the priorities set in the web options.

Required Documents and Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to upload several mandatory documents during the counselling process. These include the AP LAWCET 2026 Rank Card, Hall Ticket, SSC Marks Memo, Intermediate Marks Memo (for 5-year LLB), Degree Marks Memos (for 3-year LLB), Degree Certificate/Provisional Degree Certificate (for 3-year LLB), Transfer Certificate, Study Certificates, Aadhaar Card, and relevant caste, income, EWS, or special category certificates, along with passport-size photographs. Login credentials for registration require the Hall Ticket Number and Date of Birth.

Eligibility for 3-Year LLB courses mandates a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 45% for General/OC candidates, 42% for BC, and 40% for SC/ST. For 5-Year Integrated LLB courses, candidates must have passed Intermediate (10+2) with 45% for General/OC, 42% for BC, and 40% for SC/ST. The AP LAWCET 2026 exam was conducted on May 4, 2026, with results declared on May 18, 2026.
