GSSSB Ophthalmic Assistant final result out for 261 posts

The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) announced the final result for 261 Ophthalmic Assistant (Class-3) posts today, 31 October 2026. This declaration pertains to Advertisement No. 344/202526 and marks the completion of the recruitment drive.

Ophthalmic Assistant Recruitment Details

The final result for the Ophthalmic Assistant posts was compiled based on candidates’ performance in the Multiple Choice Question-based Computer Based Recruitment Test (MCQ-CBRT) and subsequent document verification. The recruitment aimed to fill 261 vacancies for the contractual Class-3 positions.

The application window for these posts was open from 1 April 2025, with a closing date of 25 April 2025. Eligibility criteria included a graduate degree in a relevant subject and an age limit of 18-35 years. The minimum pay scale for selected Ophthalmic Assistants is Rs. 40,800/- per month.

The selection process for X-Ray Technician posts involves a single-stage competitive written examination, which is MCQ-based, followed by document verification. There is no interview component for this recruitment. The written examination consists of two parts: Part A for 90 marks and Part B for 120 marks, totaling 210 marks. A negative marking of ¼ per wrong answer is applicable, and candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each part of the exam.

The fixed pay for X-Ray Technicians is ₹40,800/- for the first five years, after which a regular scale of ₹35,400-1,12,400 (Level 6, 7th CPC) applies. The age limit for X-Ray Technician posts, as on 29 June 2026, ranges from 18 years minimum to 36 years maximum for General (Male) candidates, with relaxations for other categories.
