The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode) officially welcomed its second batch for the four-year Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) (Honours with Research) programme for the 2026–27 academic session. Marking a major milestone in undergraduate management education in India, the newly admitted cohort of 120 students stands out for its high level of diversity.

Women comprise 59% of the new intake, maintaining IIM Kozhikode’s track record of gender inclusion across its educational offerings. 56% Students from Commerce Background, 39% from Science Stream

The 2026 BMS batch displays a mix of academic backgrounds from secondary education. While students from the Commerce stream make up the majority, a significant portion comes from Science and other disciplines:

• Commerce Stream: 56% of the batch comes from a commerce background, providing a foundation in accounting, business studies, and economics.

• Science Stream: 39% of enrolled students transitioned from science backgrounds, bringing analytical and quantitative perspectives to the cohort.

• Arts & Other Streams: The remaining 5% includes students from Humanities, Social Sciences, and vocational disciplines.

Admissions follow a multi-stage evaluation process designed to test analytical ability, communication skills, and academic consistency:

1. Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent 10+2 secondary diploma from a recognized board in any stream.

2. Aptitude Assessment (BMS-AT): Applicants take a written test evaluating quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, data interpretation, and verbal ability.
