- JKBOSE announced on October 22, 2026, that students passing private or bi-annual exams are now eligible for the succeeding annual regular examination.
- The board clarified that concerned schools are to facilitate admission for these students into the next class, irrespective of any prior restrictions.
- This decision amplifies a previous notification issued in 2017 to bridge academic discontinuity for students.
- JKBOSE had earlier extended the deadline for online examination form submissions for Class 10 and 12 Annual (Private)/Bi-Annual 2026 examinations.
- The extension, announced on May 11, 2026, applied to both normal and late fee submissions across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh UTs.
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) announced on October 22, 2026, that students who clear private or bi-annual examinations will now be eligible to appear for the succeeding annual regular examination. This decision, applicable across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, aims to address the discontinuity of studies for students in their academic pursuits.

This move by JKBOSE amplifies a previous notification issued in 2017, with the Director Academics of JKBOSE, Dr. Parveen Singh, stating that the objective is to ensure students can continue their education without interruption. A JKBOSE notification further clarified that concerned schools are mandated to support admission for such students in the next class, allowing them to take annual examinations regardless of any previously notified restrictions.
Extension of Examination Form Submission Dates
In a separate development earlier this year, JKBOSE extended the last dates for the submission of online permission-cum-examination forms for the Secondary School Examination (Class 10) and Higher Secondary Part-II (Class 12) Annual Private/Bi-Annual 2026 examinations. This extension was communicated via a notification issued on May 11, 2026, and was granted in continuation of earlier notifications from April 24, 2026, and May 6, 2026.
The revised cutoff dates applied to both normal fee submissions and submissions with late fees, covering students from Jammu and Kashmir divisions, including winter and summer zone areas of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. This extension provided relief to thousands of students who encountered difficulties such as delayed document verification, technical issues, internet connectivity problems, payment gateway failures, and a lack of awareness regarding deadlines.
Examination Fees and Schedule
The original schedule for the submission of online permission-cum-examination forms for the Class 10 and 12 Annual (Private)/Bi-Annual 2026 session was initially notified on April 24, 2026. The revised dates are applicable for both online and offline submission modes. Exams will be conducted as per the New Syllabus, and specially-abled candidates with 40% or more disability are exempted from exam fees.
The fee structure for the online submission of examination forms for Class 10 and 12 Annual Private/Bi-Annual 2026 examinations is detailed below:
