MP NEET 2026 Mop-Up Round counselling registration begins: apply by October 2

Registration for the MP NEET 2026 Mop-Up Round Counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental colleges across Madhya Pradesh began today, September 28, 2026. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, has released the official schedule for this round, which provides an opportunity for eligible candidates to secure remaining seats.

This Mop-Up Round is a crucial stage in the state medical admission process, catering to candidates who did not secure a seat in previous rounds, those who surrendered or resigned from allotted seats, and eligible fresh candidates who missed earlier registrations. The counselling covers 85% state quota seats in government colleges and 100% of seats in private institutions within Madhya Pradesh.

MP NEET 2026 MOP-UP Round Schedule and Key Dates

The online registration window for the MP NEET 2026 Mop-Up Round opened on September 28, 2026, and will conclude on October 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Following registration, the vacant seat matrix for the round will be published on October 3, 2026. The revised state merit list for the Mop-Up Round is scheduled for publication on October 4, 2026.

Candidates must complete fresh choice filling and locking between October 5, 2026, and October 7, 2026, by 11:59 PM. The seat allotment result for the Mop-Up Round will be declared on October 9, 2026. Physical reporting and document verification at the allotted medical or dental colleges are set for October 10, 2026, to October 14, 2026, by 5:00 PM. Failure to report by the deadline will result in automatic cancellation of allotment and forfeiture of the security deposit.

Eligibility and Participation Rules for the MOP-UP Round

Specific eligibility criteria apply for participation in the MP NEET 2026 Mop-Up Round. Candidates who have already joined and are holding an MBBS or BDS seat through MP State Counselling in Round 1 or Round 2 are not permitted to participate. Similarly, candidates who joined a seat through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under AIQ Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, or Mop-Up and have not resigned according to MCC rules are ineligible.

Non-domicile candidates are eligible to register for private medical and dental college seats, subject to state policy and availability. However, government medical seats are strictly reserved for candidates with Madhya Pradesh domicile. Fresh choice filling is mandatory for all participating candidates in this round. The counselling process is conducted online through the official DME portal, dme.mponline.gov.in.

Seat Matrix and Academic Requirements for MP NEET 2026

As of 2026, Madhya Pradesh offers a total of 5,625 MBBS seats, comprising 2,975 in government colleges and 2,650 in private institutions. For BDS courses, there are 1,283 seats, with 63 in government colleges and 1,220 in private institutions. The state has 34 medical colleges (both government and private) and 14 dental colleges (1 government and 13 private).

Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2026. The maximum age for General/UR category candidates is 25 years, extended to 30 years for SC/ST/OBC categories. Academic qualifications require candidates to have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. Minimum marks in 10+2 (PCB subjects) are 50% for UR/General, 40% for OBC/SC/ST, and 45% for PwD candidates. For the MMMVY MBBS benefit, the NEET All India Rank should be within 1,50,000, and the General parent/guardian annual income criterion for the scheme is below ₹8 lakh. MP domicile students must be residents of Madhya Pradesh and meet Class 12 marks requirements of 70% or more for MP Board, or 85% or more for CBSE/ICSE.
