The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the results for the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) January 2026 semester examination. Candidates who sat for this biannual academic assessment can now access and download their scorecards directly via the official NTA examination portal at exams.nta.ac.in/swayam.

The examinations were successfully conducted from June 17 to June 21, 2026. The testing spanned across 5 days, spread over 10 distinct test sessions. To facilitate the nationwide scale of the assessment, NTA organized the exam at 201 examination centres distributed across 149 cities in India.

SWAYAM January 2026: An Overview of the Data

The total academic spectrum for the January 2026 semester comprised 898 distinct courses. The current result declaration covers 829 courses that were fully conducted under the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

According to official metrics shared by the National Testing Agency, the student participation figures reveal widespread engagement with the digital learning platform:

  • Total Registered Candidates: 1,26,773 learners signed up for the semester exams across both testing models.

  • Total Appeared Candidates: 1,07,887 students successfully presented themselves for the tests, representing an overall attendance rate of approximately 85.1%.

  • CBT Mode Statistics: Out of the 1,22,953 candidates registered specifically for the 829 digital-only courses, 1,04,834 successfully completed their examinations.

  • Hybrid Mode Statistics: For the remaining 69 courses designated under the hybrid test template (combining CBT with paper-pen elements), 3,820 learners registered and 3,053 appeared.

The NTA has clarified that results for the 69 hybrid-mode courses are currently being finalized through its processing systems. Results for these specific subjects will be announced independently in a subsequent phase.

SWAYAM January 2026 Toppers Names and Certification Policy

In alignment with the structural framework of the SWAYAM ecosystem, the National Testing Agency acts strictly as the executing body for conducting the examinations, tabulating raw numerical data, and publishing initial digital scorecards.

Because SWAYAM scales across hundreds of decentralized fields—encompassing engineering, humanities, sciences, and commerce—the NTA does not publish a centralized, single rank-holder merit list or global toppers names. Instead, top individual performances and specific subject-wise toppers are designated independently by the respective National Coordinators supervising each stream (such as NPTEL, AICTE, CEC, or UGC).

The absolute marks achieved by candidates within their digital scorecards serve as the baseline calculation for the compilation of successful credits. Finalized physical/digital completion certificates and top-performer commendation honors will be released on individual portals by these specific National Coordinators over the coming weeks.
