SMVDU Announced 2026-27 Reporting Begins on 3 August: Check Full Schedule with Orientation & Class Commencement Dates
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, has officially released the detailed reporting schedule and academic activity timeline for candidates admitted to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs for the 2026–27 academic session. The schedule is published on the official university portal admission.smvdu.ac.in. Students are supposed to report on the basis of their counselling categories: SMVDU Counselling (Aug 3 onwards), CCMT and CCMN (August 5 onwards), JoSAA and CSAB (August 13 onwards).
The notification also highlights that classes will begin from 10th August 2026, with inaugural orientation programme scheduled for 20th August 2026. Candidates are required to report in person at the SMVDU campus in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir, within their designated windows to complete document verification, fee validation, and seat confirmation.

Reporting Schedule for SMVDU Counselling Candidates
Candidates admitted through the university’s internal rounds—including Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP), Design Your Degree (DYD), B.Des., B.Tech (Lateral Entry), M.A., M.Sc., MBA, and Ph.D. courses—are allocated the initial reporting window from August 3 to August 10, 2026.
Important Note: Students admitted via SMVDU Direct Counselling are advised to complete their physical reporting promptly so they can settle into university housing prior to the start of academic sessions.
Reporting Schedule for CCMT & CCMN Admissions
Postgraduate applicants securing seats in M.Tech., M.Arch., M.Plan., and M.Sc. programs through the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. (CCMT) and Centralized Counselling for M.Sc. (CCMN) platforms are required to report between August 5 and August 11, 2026. Candidates must ensure that their online provisional admission letters issued by the respective centralized boards are downloaded prior to visiting the campus.
Reporting Schedule for JoSAA & CSAB Admissions
Undergraduate engineering and architecture candidates allotted seats via the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) must physically report to SMVDU between August 13 and August 18, 2026. Candidates should verify that all seat acceptance fees and institute balance fees are cleared on the official portals before arriving for physical verification.

Admitted students must complete the on-campus verification process seamlessly by following a quick step-by-step reporting procedure:

Travel & Arrival: Reach the SMVDU Campus at Kakryal, Katra within the exact reporting window assigned to your admission channel.

Desk Registration: Present your Provisional Allotment Letter and entry pass at the designated verification hall.

Document Verification: Submit two sets of self-attested photocopies alongside your original certificates for physical validation by the university officers.

Fee Clearance: Produce proof of full fee payment or settle any outstanding institute balance through the Samarth student portal.

Hostel & ID Allotment: Complete hostel room allocation procedures and collect your provisional student ID card to complete onboarding.
Candidates must carry the original copies along with self-attested photocopies of the following credentials during physical reporting:

Seat Allotment & Offer Letter (Issued by SMVDU, JoSAA/CSAB, or CCMT/CCMN).

Proof of Date of Birth (10th Standard Marks Card / Certificate).

Qualifying Mark Sheets (12th Standard transcript for UG; Bachelor’s degree transcripts for PG).

Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD certificates in the prescribed central format, if applicable).
