TS Inter exam date 2027 expected soon: practicals from February 1, theory from February 24

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) is expected to release the TS Inter Exam Date 2027 for first-year and second-year students in November 2026 or the first week of December 2026. This schedule will detail the subject-wise and stream-wise examination dates for the Telangana Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) set for March 2027.

Candidates appearing for the IPE in March 2027 should monitor the official TGBIE website, tgbie.cgg.gov.in, for the release of the official timetable. The theoretical exams are tentatively planned to begin at the end of February 2027, with practical examinations likely commencing from February 1, 2027.

Proposed Examination Schedule and Rationale

The Intermediate Board is planning to commence state Intermediate public examinations from February 24, 2027. An alternative contingency date of March 3, 2027, has also been proposed for theory examinations. Practical examinations, including those for 1st Year Science students, are likely to begin from February 1, 2027. The expected exam timings for theoretical examinations are 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

This preferred start date of February 24 is influenced by several factors. Government warnings regarding intense summer heat and potential power shortages are a consideration. In addition, this schedule aims to allow Class 10 (SSC) exams to commence after the Intermediate exams conclude, and to ensure adequate preparation time for competitive entrance tests such as JEE Main, NEET, and EAMCET.

Tentative Key Dates for 1st and 2nd Year Exams

Based on past trends and analysis, the TS Inter 2027 theoretical exams are assumed to be conducted between February and March 2027. Practical exams for both 1st and 2nd Year students are tentatively scheduled for February 2027. Theoretical exams for both years are expected to begin by the end of February 2027 or in the first week of March 2027.

For 1st Year students, pre-final exams are scheduled from January 18 to January 23, 2027, with practical exams expected in the last week of January 2027. Theory exams for 1st Year are planned for the last week of February 2027. The official timetable will be available in PDF format on the board’s website for both 1st-year and 2nd-year exams separately.

Timeline of Previous Timetable Releases

The release of the TS Inter Exam Date 2027 is expected to follow a pattern observed in previous academic sessions. For the 2024 academic session, the TS Inter time table was released on December 28, 2023. The timetable for the 2025 academic session was released on December 17, 2025, while for the 2026 academic session, it was released on October 31, 2025. This indicates a potential release in November or early December 2026 for the upcoming 2027 examinations.

Affiliation Status of Junior Colleges

In a related development, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has barred 27 private junior colleges from conducting student admissions for the 2026–27 academic year. This decision follows a strict verification drive by TSBIE. Out of these, 55 colleges were found to have submitted fake No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the board, while 15 colleges were denied permission due to various other administrative and infrastructure violations.

The verification drive has resulted in a noticeable dip in the total number of recognized intermediate colleges in the state. For the 2026–27 academic year, 3,241 colleges (government and private combined) secured TSBIE affiliation, a decrease of 108 institutions compared to the previous year’s total of 3,349 affiliated colleges. The restricted colleges include 14 in Ranga Reddy District, 7 in Medchal District, and 6 in Hyderabad District.
