UGC NET June 2026 e-certificates released; download now

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the e-Certificates for the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 Examination on September 24, 2026. These certificates are crucial for Indian nationals seeking eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and PhD admissions in universities and colleges across India. Candidates can access their e-Certificates and JRF Award Letters through the official NTA website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The release follows a multi-stage examination process, including computer-based tests (CBT), answer key publication, and result declarations for 84 subjects. The NTA, entrusted by the UGC to conduct this examination, issues certificates in four categories: JRF only, JRF along with Assistant Professor eligibility, Assistant Professor with PhD admission, and PhD admission only.

Accessing UGC NET June 2026 Certificates

Candidates who appeared for the UGC NET June 2026 examination can download their e-Certificates and JRF Award Letters online. The process requires candidates to log in to the official NTA portal using their application number, password, and a CAPTCHA code. The certificate is issued exclusively in digital format, with no hard copies being dispatched.

The authoritative scorecard and JRF e-certificate will also be issued through the DigiLocker platform, and candidates are advised by the University Grants Commission (UGC)-NET to download and retain these documents for all official purposes. Candidates are encouraged to verify all details on their downloaded certificates and contact the NTA helpdesk immediately if any discrepancies are found.

Validity of Certificates and Key Dates

The validity of the UGC NET certificates varies depending on the qualifying category. The Assistant Professor certificate holds lifetime validity, providing long-term eligibility for teaching positions. The JRF Award Letter is valid for three years from its date of issue, a crucial detail for candidates planning their research fellowships. For those who qualify solely for PhD admission, the certificate remains valid for one year from the date of the result announcement.

The UGC NET June 2026 session involved several key events leading up to the certificate release. The CBT exams were conducted from June 22 to June 30, 2026. The answer key was released on August 16, 2026, followed by the announcement of results for 84 subjects on August 28, 2026. Re-examinations for English, Commerce, and Sociology were held on September 9 and September 10, 2026, with their results released on September 17, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Fees

To be eligible for the UGC NET June 2026 examination, candidates were required to have passed or appeared for a Master’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks. The maximum age for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) was 30 years as of June 1, 2026, while there was no age limit for eligibility for Assistant Professor (NET).

The application fees for the examination varied by candidate category. General candidates paid Rs. 1150/-, EWS/OBC-NCL candidates paid Rs. 600/-, and SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender candidates paid Rs. 325/-. The UGC-NET is conducted twice every year, in June and December, by the NTA in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode since December 2018.
