UPTAC 2026 Revised Counselling Schedule Out, Seat Allotment on July 9th: Check Full Schedule with Application Fee

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has released the revised UPTAC 2026 counselling schedule for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Round 1 seat allotment is now scheduled for 9th July 2026. Students can accept, or float, the allotted seat till 12th July 2026 at uptac.samarth.edu.in. Students are required to also pay a seat acceptance fee of Rs. 20,000 (general, OBC) and Rs. 12,000 (SC/ST).  

The revised schedule covers admissions for BTech, MTech Integrated and BDes programmes, along with separate schedules for programmes such as BArch, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, MBA Integrated, MCA Integrated, BBA, BCA, BVoc, MBA, MCA and other lateral entry programmes.

UPTAC 2026 Revised Counselling Dates

AKTU has released the revised Round 1 schedule for UPTAC 2026 counselling. As per the updated timeline, the Round 1 choice filling process started on July 4, 2026, and candidates can submit and lock their preferences until July 7, 2026. The Round 1 seat allotment result will be announced on July 9, 2026. Candidates allotted seats will then have to complete the freeze, float or withdrawal process by July 12, 2026.

How to Fill UPTAC 2026 Counselling Choices

Candidates can fill their UPTAC 2026 counselling choices by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official UPTAC counselling portal at uptac.samarth.edu.in. 
  2. Log in using the registered credentials.
  3. Open the choice filling section available on the candidate dashboard.
  4. Select preferred colleges and programmes in order of priority.
  5. Arrange choices carefully and review the preference list.
  6. Lock the final choices before the deadline.

Candidates are advised to fill multiple choices based on their preferred branch, college, previous year cut-offs and seat availability. Once choices are locked, changes may not be allowed during the counselling round.

UPTAC 2026 Seat Acceptance Fee

For UPTAC 2026, candidates who are allotted a seat and wish to retain it must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee after selecting the Freeze or Float option.

The seat acceptance fee is paid online through the UPTAC counselling portal after seat allotment. This amount is adjusted against the admission/tuition fee at the time of reporting to the allotted institute. Candidates who fail to pay the fee within the prescribed deadline may lose their allotted seat.

Float, Freeze and Withdrawal Options

After seat allotment, UPTAC 2026 candidates are provided with options to decide whether they want to continue in the counselling process.

  • Freeze: Candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat can choose the freeze option. They will accept the allotted seat and will not participate in further rounds.
  • Float: Candidates who want to retain their current seat while also trying for a higher-preference choice in upcoming rounds can select the float option.
  • Withdrawal: Candidates who do not wish to continue with the counselling process can withdraw according to the rules mentioned by UPTAC.

Candidates should select these options carefully, as their choice determines their participation in subsequent counselling rounds.
