CUET PG 2027 exam schedule revised: NTA shifts dates to March 2-31

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the examination schedule for the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2027. An updated notice was released on October 26, 2026, on the official website nta.ac.in, indicating that the postgraduate entrance examination will now be held from March 2 to March 31, 2027.

This revision to the CUET PG 2027 schedule is part of the NTA’s updated 2026-27 exam calendar, which aims to prevent scheduling clashes with other competitive examinations. The change affects lakhs of aspirants seeking admission to postgraduate programs across central, state, and private universities in India.

Revised CUET PG 2027 Examination Dates

The CUET PG 2027 exam, originally slated to begin on March 1, 2027, and conclude on March 25, 2027, will now commence a day later, on March 2, 2027, and extend until March 31, 2027. The NTA has also integrated the previously designated buffer dates of March 30 and 31, 2027, into the regular examination schedule, effectively removing them as separate buffer days.

The examination will span 17 days in March 2027, with specific dates including March 2-5, 8-9, 12, 15-19, 24-25, and 29-31. The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, with three shifts scheduled on each exam day. A total of 157 subjects will be covered under the CUET PG 2027.

Key Details and Application Process

The NTA has confirmed that the CUET PG 2027 registration is expected to open in December 2026. While specific subject-wise dates have not yet been released, candidates are advised to refer to the official portal, nta.ac.in, for all updates. Admit cards, which will contain the exact exam date, shift, and city, are anticipated to be released online around the end of February or during March 2027.

Following the examination, a provisional answer key is likely to be made available for a limited period. Candidates will have the option to challenge questions for a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question. The final answer key declared by the NTA will be used to prepare the CUET PG result. Admissions to postgraduate programs will be handled separately by the respective Central and participating Universities after the CUET PG result is announced.

NTA’s Broader Exam Calendar for 2027

The revision of the CUET PG 2027 schedule is part of a broader examination calendar released by the NTA for 2026-27, which sets tentative dates for major national-level tests from December 2026 to April 2027. This full calendar includes examinations such as JEE Main 2027, UGC NET, CSIR NET, CMAT, and NIFT exams.

According to the NTA, JEE Main Session 1 is scheduled for January 20–24 and 28, 2027, with Session 2 following from April 2 to 7, 2027. The UGC NET December 2026 exam will take place on December 14–18 and 21, 2026, while the Joint CSIR UGC NET examination is slated for December 19, 22, and 27, 2026. CMAT 2027 is scheduled for February 7, 2027. The NTA has stated that these dates are provisional and may be subject to change due to administrative requirements, academic considerations, legal obligations, logistical challenges, or unexpected developments.
