CBSE addresses school queries on 2027 board exam registration, LOC processes

This initiative aims to clarify key aspects of the annual examination cycle, which impacts students in nearly 32,000 CBSE-affiliated schools across India and 26 other countries. The LOC process for Class X and XII Board Examinations 2027 has already begun, with registration for students of Classes IX and XI anticipated to commence shortly, marking a crucial phase in the preparation for the upcoming academic year’s board examinations.

Webinar Focus and Official Guidance

The webinar specifically addressed a range of issues critical to the smooth conduct of the 2027 Board Examinations. Discussions centered on student particulars, subject selection and changes, the verification and submission of LOC data, the registration of students in Classes IX and XI, fee-related provisions, and specific requirements for Children with Special Needs (CWSN).

During the session, the Controller of Examinations delivered a presentation outlining the key aspects of the Registration and LOC processes. Senior CBSE officials were present to respond to questions submitted live by principals and teachers. The Board emphasized the importance of accurate data entry, advising schools to ensure student details and subject combinations are correctly entered and verified. Schools were also urged to resolve any issues well in advance of the stipulated deadlines.

Admit Card Procedures for Class 12 Board Exams

While the CBSE has not yet officially released the Class 12 Admit Card for the 2027 board examinations as of September 29, 2026, the webinar provided context on its typical release and distribution. Based on previous years’ patterns, the admit card is usually made available to schools via the CBSE LOC portal approximately two to three weeks before the examinations begin, which are generally held in February-March.

The Class 12 Admit Card is a mandatory document for students to gain entry into the examination hall, serving as official proof of eligibility. It contains critical information such as the candidate’s roll number, subject codes, exam schedule, and examination center details. Students receive printed copies of the admit card from their respective schools, and it is only valid if it bears the official school stamp and the principal’s signature. Individual students cannot download the admit card directly from cbse.gov.in; access is restricted to school principals and authorized staff through the CBSE portal.

School Participation and Information Access

The webinar saw significant participation from the educational community. More than 450 principals and educators from CBSE-affiliated schools attended the session in person at the Dwarka office, demonstrating the importance schools place on understanding these processes. The livestream on CBSE’s official YouTube channel extended the reach to a wider audience of stakeholders.
