The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the seat matrix for NEET PG Counselling 2026, with the round 1 portal for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates scheduled to open on October 1, 2026. This central process assigns MD, MS, PG Diploma, DNB, and DrNB seats to eligible candidates based on their NEET PG rank, the results for which were released by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).

The Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is responsible for conducting the online counselling, which is in compliance with Supreme Court orders from March 23, 2012, and May 9, 2017. The MCC will conduct online counselling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, 100% of seats at deemed universities, and all seats at specified central universities and institutions.

All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling Details

The MCC manages counselling for All India Quota, Deemed, Central, AIIMS, ESIC, and DNB seats. Candidates participating in AIQ counselling are required to pay a registration fee and a security deposit. The registration fee is ₹1,000 for UR/EWS candidates and ₹500 for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates. The security deposit is ₹25,000 for UR/EWS candidates and ₹10,000 for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates.

Central reservation policy applies to AIQ seats, including 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for OBC-NCL, and 10% for EWS. Additionally, a 5% horizontal PwD reservation is applied within each category for AIQ seats. The seat matrix for AIQ is compiled by the MCC, while the DNB seat matrix is provided by NBEMS and shared with the MCC.

State Counselling Processes: Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra

Individual state authorities conduct counselling for state quota seats, separate from the MCC’s central process. For Uttar Pradesh, the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Lucknow, conducts UP NEET PG Counselling 2026 for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma/DNB/MDS courses in government and private medical and dental colleges. This process is fully online via upneet.gov.in. The registration fee for UP NEET PG Counselling is a one-time payment of ₹3,000, covering Rounds 1 to 3. A fresh registration with the same fee is mandatory for the Stray Vacancy Round.

The Compulsory Rotatory Internship cut-off date for eligibility for MD/MS/Diploma/DNB in UP NEET PG Counselling is September 30, 2026.
