The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is anticipated to release the tentative schedule for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2027 in October 2026, with the final date sheet for Class 10 expected in November or December 2026. As of October 17, 2026, the official subject-wise timetable has not been released.

In contrast, the Kerala Board of Public Examinations (KBPE) has released the Kerala SSLC Exam Time Table 2027. The CBSE board examinations for 2027 are expected to be conducted during February and March 2027, affecting approximately 44 lakh students from around 8,000 schools in India and abroad.

CBSE Board Exam 2027 Schedule and Preparations

The CBSE has confirmed that the final subject-wise Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exam 2027 timetable has not been released as of October 5, 2026. However, the board anticipates releasing the tentative schedule in October 2026, with the Class 10 date sheet specifically expected in November or December 2026. The examinations are generally expected to commence at 10:30 AM IST.

Preparations for the 2027 examinations have already begun, with the education board commencing preliminary exam procedures. This includes the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for Classes 10 and 12 and other related registration formalities. CBSE also held a live Q&A webinar to guide schools and students on registration and LOC procedures. The official CBSE date sheet, once released on cbse.gov.in, will detail subject names and codes, examination dates, day of the examination, exam timing and duration, and important instructions. Students are advised to download the official file from the website upon its availability and continue their studies, revision, and practice with sample papers.

Changes in CBSE Examination Structure and Passing Criteria

For the 2027 examinations, the CBSE Class 10 board system includes two board examinations. The first Class 10 Board Examination is mandatory, while the second is optional for students seeking improvement in up to three subjects. The CBSE Class 12 board system, however, continues with a single board examination. These changes were introduced from the 2026 examinations.

To pass the CBSE board examinations, students are required to secure at least 33% marks in each subject. For subjects that comprise both theory and internal assessment components, students must meet the prescribed requirements in both components separately. The board has also released sample papers and marking schemes for the 2026-27 academic session to assist students in their preparation.
