The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced the List of Candidates (LOC) submission process for students appearing in the Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations 2027. A prior intimation regarding this crucial registration step was issued by the board on September 10, 2026, directing affiliated schools to prepare student details.

This process is essential for registering eligible students for the upcoming board examinations, which are anticipated to involve over 44 lakh students across approximately 8,000 schools in India and 26 other countries. The detailed schedule for submitting student information and examination fees will be confirmed through an official CBSE circular, with the LOC submission for Class 12 and the Class 10 first exam expected to open in August 2026.

LOC Submission Process and Deadlines

The LOC submission process requires affiliated schools to submit details of regular Class 10 and 12 students through the CBSE system, specifically using the Pariksha Sangam portal. This list includes critical information such as personal details and subject combinations, which will determine the subjects in which a student will appear for the board examination.

Based on past patterns, the deadline for submitting the LOC without a late fee is anticipated to be by the end of September 2026. For the previous 2025–26 examination session, the LOC process was conducted during August, September, and October 2025. The LOC for the Class 10 second exam is opened later, closer to the second examination in 2027, which is expected in March 2027 for a five-day period.

Examination Fees and Charges

The official examination fee for the CBSE Class 12 Board Examination 2027 should be confirmed through the detailed LOC notification for the 2026–27 session. For the 2025–26 session, the normal examination fee was ₹1,600 per candidate for five subjects for schools in India. Additional charges were applicable for extra subjects and practical subjects.

Schools are strictly prohibited from collecting unauthorised fees in connection with the LOC submission. A late fee of ₹2,000 per candidate is applicable for LOC submissions made after the normal deadline. The registration fee for Class 9 and 11 only is ₹320. Students must verify their name, date of birth, father’s and mother’s names, subject combination, and category details carefully to avoid discrepancies.

Examination Schedule and Eligibility Criteria

While the official CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 Date Sheet 2027 has not been released as of September 14, 2026, the CBSE Board Exams 2027 for Class 10 are scheduled to commence on February 15, 2027, and conclude on March 10, 2027. All Class 10 exams will take place in a single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

To be eligible for the examinations, students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance. The board has also outlined specific guidelines for examination conduct, including relying on unique QR codes on answer sheets for tracking and authenticity verification. Students are instructed to write question numbers only in the margin and perform all rough work in the appropriate margin of the answer sheet, crossing it out upon completion. Any student found using unfair means will face immediate disqualification and a two-year exam ban, with CCTV cameras installed in exam centres and live streaming systems for real-time monitoring at selected locations.

The List of Candidates (LOC) process for private candidates differs from that of regular students.
