CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026 on July 28: Admit Card, Eligibility, Rules & Latest Updates

The CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026 will now be conducted on July 28, 2026, giving eligible students another opportunity to clear their compartment subject or improve their score without waiting for the next annual board examination. Alongside announcing the revised examination date, CBSE has  also started accepting the online List of Candidates (LOC) from June 30, with schools required to complete submissions by July 8, 2026, through the Pariksha Sangam portal. Private candidates can apply separately through the official CBSE portal. The supplementary examination is meant for eligible compartment and improvement candidates and will be conducted according to the existing 2025-26 syllabus.

Who Can Appear for CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026?

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026:

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026 Registration Process

The registration process differs for regular and private candidates.

For regular students, the respective schools will submit the List of Candidates (LOC) through the Pariksha Sangam portal after collecting the required details and examination fee.

For private candidates, CBSE has opened a separate online application facility on its official website.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Admit Card 2026

CBSE is expected to release the Class 12 Supplementary Admit Card 2026 a few days before the examination.

  • Regular students will receive their admit cards through their respective schools.
  • Private candidates will be able to download their hall tickets directly from the CBSE website using their login credentials.
  • Students should carefully verify details such as their name, roll number, examination centre, subject code, and reporting time after receiving the admit card.

CBSE will separately notify the admit card release date on its official website.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026 Exam Pattern

The supplementary examination follows the same pattern as the main CBSE Class 12 Board Examination.

  • Question papers will be based on the 2025-26 CBSE syllabus.
  • The marking scheme and passing criteria remain unchanged.
  • The duration of each paper will be the same as prescribed for the respective subject.
  • Students need to secure the minimum passing marks as prescribed by CBSE to qualify.

The supplementary examination is conducted only for the subjects for which the candidate is eligible under CBSE rules.

What Happens After the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026?

After the examination, CBSE will evaluate the answer sheets and announce the supplementary examination results on its official website.

Candidates who successfully clear the compartment examination will receive a consolidated marksheet reflecting their updated result. These revised results can then be used for higher education admissions and other academic purposes wherever applicable. The result is expected to be declared in August 2026, although CBSE has not yet announced an official date.
