CBSE Class 10, 12 LOC registration 2027: submit by October 21 without late fee

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today, September 30, 2026, held a live webinar to clarify the registration and List of Candidates (LOC) processes for the 2027 Board Examinations for Class 10 and 12. The session, titled “Relevance of Registration & LOC,” also covered procedures for correcting students’ particulars.

The webinar, livestreamed on CBSE’s official YouTube channel, aimed to enhance transparency and ease of navigation for students, parents, and schools regarding examination-related procedures. It specifically addressed queries concerning LOC registration for students across nearly 32,000 CBSE-affiliated schools in India and 26 other countries. More than 450 school principals and educators participated in the program at the CBSE Integrated Office in Dwarka, New Delhi.

LOC Submission and Key Dates for Board Exams 2027

The LOC registration process for Class 10 and 12 board examinations 2027 has already commenced, with submissions for the 2026-27 academic session opening on September 24, 2026. The Controller of Examinations delivered a presentation detailing key aspects of the registration and LOC submission process. A live question-and-answer session allowed senior CBSE officials to respond to queries from principals and teachers.

The deadline for submitting the LOC without a late fee is October 21, 2026, for digital submissions, and October 17, 2026, for challan payments. A late-fee window will be available from October 22–30, 2026. Following the submission period, a correction window for submitted LOC data is scheduled for November 2–4, 2026. The Board Exam 2027 date sheet has not yet been released.

Fee Structure and Eligibility Criteria

The fee for CBSE LOC submission for Class 10 and 12, covering five subjects, is ₹1,600. An additional fee of ₹320 applies for each additional subject. A late fee of ₹2,000 will be charged for submissions made after October 21, 2026. Visually impaired candidates are exempted from LOC submission fees. The Class 10 LOC covers the first of two board exams, scheduled for February-March 2027, under the Two Board Examination Policy.

For Class 12 candidates, eligibility requires having passed Class 10 from a recognised board by 2025. CBSE has advised schools to regularly check its official website for updates and stressed the importance of maintaining accuracy throughout the registration and LOC submission process to reduce procedural difficulties. Requests for subject changes after LOC submission will not be accepted.

Guidelines for Schools and Special Needs Candidates

Schools are mandated to correctly identify Children with Special Needs (CWSN) candidates in the LOC. The submission deadline for the CWSN portal will precede the LOC deadline. The final LOC will be uploaded using the e-signature linked with the principal’s Aadhaar. The webinar was held in continuation of CBSE’s circulars on LOC submission for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2027 and correction of students’ demographic details.

The registration process for students of Classes 9 and 11 is expected to begin shortly. CBSE emphasized the importance of accurate data to allow students to concentrate on academic preparation. The initiative aims to make examination-related procedures more transparent and easier for students, parents, and schools to navigate.
