KMAT 2026 session 2 registration opens: apply by October 31

The Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) commenced registration for KMAT 2026 Session 2 on September 28, 2026. Aspiring candidates for MBA and MCA courses in AICTE-approved, university-affiliated self-financing colleges in Karnataka can apply online through the official website, kmatindia.com.

The application window for Session 2 will remain open until October 31, 2026. KMAT is recognized as an All India examination, conducted in over 10 cities across Bangalore, Karnataka, and other parts of the country, serving as the entrance examination for 159 member institutions offering MBA programmes and 69 institutions offering MCA programmes.

KMAT 2026 Session 2 Application Details

The application process for KMAT 2026 Session 2 is exclusively online. Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,230, which includes GST. This fee can be submitted via net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

The KPPGCA, established on January 29, 2003, is the conducting body for KMAT, which is officially authorized by the Government of Karnataka for admissions to these postgraduate programmes. KMAT is notable for offering two sittings in a single admission cycle, with the higher of the two scores considered for counselling.

Eligibility Criteria and Exam Structure

For MBA admission, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree of at least three years in any discipline from a recognized university. Those applying for MCA programmes need a graduate degree with Mathematics or Statistics at either the 10+2 or graduation level. Final-year degree students awaiting their results are permitted to apply provisionally.

The KMAT 2026 examination is a 120-minute, computer-based, remote-proctored test comprising 120 objective-type questions. The test is divided into three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, and Logical Reasoning. Each section carries equal weightage, with 40 questions and 40 marks. One mark is awarded for each correct answer, and there is no negative marking for incorrect responses.

Previous Session and Application Process

KMAT 2026 Session 1 registration commenced on April 2, 2026, and concluded on August 31, 2026. The Session 1 examination was conducted on September 13, 2026, in remote-proctored mode. For Session 1, the MCA exam was held from 10 AM to 12 PM, and the MBA exam from 2 PM to 4 PM.

To apply for KMAT 2026 Session 2, candidates must follow these steps:

1. Visit kmatindia.com and click on the KMAT application link.
2. Register using a valid email address and mobile number to generate login credentials.
3. Log in and fill in the personal, academic, and communication details in the application form.
4. Upload the scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.
5. Pay the application fee of Rs 1,230 through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
6. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
