The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has extended the registration deadline for the 2028 Matric and Intermediate annual examinations for Class 9 and Class 11 students. Schools can now complete the registration process for eligible students until November 6, 2026.
This marks the third extension for the registration window, which was initially scheduled to close on October 10, 2026. The decision was made following numerous requests from students and educational institutions, a bunch of pending applications, and reported technical issues with the online registration system.
Reasons for the Extension
The extension was granted by BSEB Chairman Dr. Tyagarajan S.M. To ensure that all eligible students can participate in the 2028 board examinations. Says Dr. Tyagarajan S.M., many schools, colleges, and students had requested additional time for registration, and a good chunk of eligible students were unable to submit their applications by the original deadline.
The board aims to allow schools to finalize registrations for students who faced technical challenges or other practical issues during the online registration process. The registration process for Matric and Intermediate examinations typically occurs approximately two years in advance of the actual examinations.
Registration Process and Deadlines
School heads or authorized representatives are responsible for registering eligible students through the official websites using their institutional user ID and password. Class 9 students are eligible for the Matric annual examination 2028, while Class 11 students are eligible for the Intermediate annual examination 2028. Students who have already registered do not need to submit their details again.
The required information for registration includes personal details, subjects, photographs, and signatures. The board has not announced any further extension beyond November 6, 2026.
