The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UPMSP) has extended the deadline for advance registration of Class 9 and Class 11 students for the academic session 2026-27. The new deadline for completing the registration process is October 22, 2026. This extension, announced around October 17, 2026, aims to provide additional time for schools to manage administrative tasks related to student registration.
The extension affects 5,905 schools across Uttar Pradesh, allowing them to complete fee submission, online uploading of institutional candidates, verification of student details, permitted corrections, and the submission of photographic lists. This advance registration is critical as it establishes the official board record necessary for generating admit cards, roll numbers, and determining eligibility for the UP Board examinations in Classes 10 and 12.
Revised Registration Timeline and Procedures
The UP Board’s decision to extend the deadline addresses potential administrative backlogs, treasury processing delays, or gaps in document verification at the institutional level. The advance registration process involves several steps, starting with fee collection and online submission of student data. The initial deadline for these activities was September 10, 2026, followed by verification and amendment periods.
Students in Class 9 are registered for the Class 10 (High School) examination cycle, while Class 11 students are registered for the Class 12 (Intermediate) examination cycle. The registration fee is Rs 50 per student, of which Rs 40 must be deposited into the government treasury, and Rs 10 is retained in the school account. Schools are required to upload fee payment details and student educational information on the official UPMSP website, upmsp.edu.in. Parents are advised to obtain a receipt or acknowledgment from the school upon paying the registration amount.

Student Information and Subject Selection
For registration, students need to prepare a recent passport-size photograph, a copy of their previous class mark sheet or admission record, proof of date of birth, parent/guardian name, confirmation of subject combination for Class 11, and any applicable category certificates. The online registration is completed by school heads on the UPMSP website, where they upload details such as the student’s name, mother’s/father’s name, date of birth, gender, subjects, photograph, and fee deposit information.
During the verification period, which was from September 11-13, 2026, school heads were required to check the accuracy of student details, including full name, parent names, date of birth, gender, subject selection, and photograph clarity. No updates were permitted on the website during this period. The amendment period, from September 14-20, 2026, allowed schools to correct or update previously uploaded details, though new student details could not be uploaded or accepted. The submission of the photographic list to the District School Inspector office was originally due by September 30, 2026.
