Candidates who have been allotted seats in this round are required to complete their online acceptance, submit original documents, and physically join their respective institutions between September 22 and 28, 2026. This Open Round aims to fill the remaining vacant seats in postgraduate nursing programmes across AIIMS campuses nationwide, following the conclusion of earlier counselling rounds.

Open Round Schedule and VACANT SEATS

The registration and choice exercising window for the Open Round was open from September 9 to September 14, 2026, closing at 5:00 PM. The deadline for accepting resignation or seat surrender letters was also September 14, 2026. AIIMS New Delhi had previously announced Open Round seat allocation results for M.Sc. courses and M.Biotechnology on September 18, 2026.

A total of 41 seats remained vacant across participating AIIMS institutions for M.Sc. Nursing after the 1st and 2nd rounds of counselling. These vacancies span various specialisations, with Community Health Nursing having the highest number of vacant seats.

Eligibility and Admission Criteria

Eligible candidates for the Open Round were those who had qualified in AIIMS M.Sc. 2026 and were identified as eligible on their MyPage dashboard. Candidates who had previously declined or resigned from an earlier allotment but remained eligible were permitted to participate. The registration process for the Open Round was entirely online, requiring candidates to log in to their MyPage account. Only locked choices were considered for allotment; unlocked or incomplete preference lists were treated as invalid.

Core admission criteria for the Open Round included educational qualification, a valid AIIMS M.Sc. 2026 entrance exam score and rank, category certificates, and medical fitness. A fresh entrance exam was not required for this round. Candidates applying for M.Sc. Nursing were required to register through the M.Sc. Nursing section under Academic Courses on the official website. The allocation of seats is made strictly as per the rank and merit of candidates in the entrance examination.

Reporting and Fee Structure

Candidates must complete the online acceptance of allocation, deposit original documents, and join the allotted AIIMS between September 22 and 28, 2026. The reporting time for physical joining is until 4:00 PM on Monday to Friday and until 12:00 noon on Saturday. Candidates are required to deposit Rs. 25,000 for M.Sc. Nursing courses as a security deposit through electronic mode.

Those who fail to report or join the allotted AIIMS will be liable to pay a penalty of Rs. 25,000, and their security deposit will not be refunded. The AIIMS M.Sc. Nursing 1st Round Seat Allotment Result 2026 was released on August 6, 2026, with online seat acceptance and reporting from August 7 to August 12, 2026. The AIIMS M.Sc. Nursing 2026 Round 2 seat allotment result was released on August 12, 2026, with online seat acceptance and physical reporting from August 17 to August 22, 2026.
