BSc Nursing counselling 2026: BFUHS 3rd round choice filling open until September 23

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has initiated the third round of online choice filling for BSc Nursing admissions for the 2026 session. Eligible candidates who qualified in PPMET-2026 from Punjab and other states can submit their preferences for colleges, categories, and quotas through the official BFUHS website.

The choice filling window for this round, which opened on September 21, 2026, will remain active until September 23, 2026. This counselling process is a continuation of the admission procedure for the B.Sc. Nursing course under PPMET-2026, following the conclusion of the first and second rounds.

PPMET BSc Nursing 3rd Round Counselling Schedule

The schedule for the 3rd Round of PPMET BSc Nursing Counselling 2026, as released by BFUHS on August 18, 2026, outlines key dates for candidates. The display of the tentative vacancy position of seats was on September 22, 2026. NRI/Foreign National candidates had until September 22, 2026, to obtain their Eligibility Certificates.

Following the choice filling period, the provisional allotment or result is slated for release on September 25, 2026. Candidates who are allotted a seat in this round must complete their joining and admission formalities, including document verification, eligibility checks, medical check-ups, and fee payment, at their respective colleges between September 26 and September 30, 2026, with a final deadline of 2:00 PM on September 30, 2026.

Seat Allotment and Admission Process

Seat allotment will be determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s merit in PPMET-2026, the preferences submitted during choice filling, the availability of seats, and the prevailing reservation policy and rules. Candidates are not required to limit their choices solely to the colleges or seats displayed in the initial vacancy position, as additional vacancies may arise due to upgradation, shifting, surrender, vacation of seats, or conversion of unfilled reserved/NRI seats.

The tuition fee for both Government Quota and Management Quota seats is consistent with the Punjab Government notification. Candidates from other states will be considered for seat allotment after eligible Punjab State candidates have been accommodated. Unfilled seats under certain reserved categories or the NRI category may be converted into Open Merit seats if they remain vacant.

Comparison with ABVMU BSc Nursing Counselling

Concurrently, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Uttar Pradesh, has also conducted its B.Sc. Nursing counselling for the 2026-27 academic session. The Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) 2026 for ABVMU was held on June 6, 2026, with results declared on June 13, 2026. The academic session for ABVMU commenced on August 1, 2026.

For ABVMU admissions, candidates must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31, 2026. General category candidates are required to have a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in their 10+2 examination, while SC/ST/OBC candidates need 40% marks in PCB. English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for ABVMU eligibility. The counselling registration fee for ABVMU is INR 500 (non-refundable), with a counselling security fee of INR 5000 and a seat confirmation fee of INR 40000. For admission to Government Colleges affiliated with ABVMU, candidates must be domiciled in Uttar Pradesh.
