The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, has extended the MP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 seat resignation window until October 1, 2026. This extension, announced via notices issued on September 21, 2026, allows candidates to resign their allotted seats until 6:00 PM on the revised deadline. The decision to extend the resignation period follows a new time schedule declared by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Plus the extended resignation window, the DME has also released the tentative schedule for the Mop Up Round for MBBS and BDS admissions. This round provides another opportunity for eligible candidates to secure a medical or dental seat within the state. Candidates are advised to refer to the official portals, dme.mponline.gov.in and medicaleducation.mp.gov.in, for all updates.

MP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Resignation Process and Penalties

Candidates wishing to resign their MP NEET UG 2026 Round 2 seats must complete the process in person at their admitted colleges. The deadline for this is October 1, 2026, by 6:00 PM. It is mandatory for candidates to physically report to the college to initiate and complete the resignation formalities.

A financial penalty is applicable at the time of resignation, varying based on the candidate’s category. Non-NRI candidates will incur a penalty of Rs 2,00,000, while NRI candidates will face a penalty of Rs 10,00,000. Candidates who resign their seats will then lose eligibility for all further state counselling rounds. A seat leaving bond will also be applicable for candidates who resign after the commencement of the Mop Up Round, as per Rule 15(1).

MOP UP Round Schedule and Participation Details

The DME, Madhya Pradesh, has released the tentative schedule for the Mop Up Round for MBBS and BDS admissions. Fresh registration for this round will commence on September 28, 2026, and conclude on October 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Already registered candidates are not required to register again for the Mop Up Round.

The revised state merit list and vacancy list for the Mop Up Round are scheduled to be published on October 3, 2026. Following this, choice filling and locking for the Mop Up Round will be active from October 4 to October 7, 2026, until 11:59 PM. Fresh choice filling is compulsory for all candidates participating in the Mop Up Round. The allotment result for the Mop Up Round is scheduled for October 10, 2026, with college reporting from October 11 to October 14, 2026, until 6:00 PM.
