The much-awaited Bihar Mega Job Fair 2026 officially kicked off today, August 19, at Gyan Bhawan near North Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The state-level recruitment drive will run for five days, concluding on August 23, 2026. Organised by the Department of Youth, Employment and Skill Development along with the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM), the event aims to provide over 20,000 private-sector jobs to the state’s unemployed youth.
The fair was met with enormous enthusiasm on its first day, with thousands of job seekers gathering at the venue with their resumes. Over 80 major national and regional companies are participating in the drive, making it one of the largest recruitment initiatives hosted in Patna this year.

Speaking at the event, officials from the Youth, Employment and Skill Development Department highlighted that this state-level event follows several district-level placement drives held across Bihar in recent weeks. Prior to this mega fair, the department had already organised 17 job fairs and over 600 placement camps during the 2026–27 financial year, helping over 20,000 youths secure jobs.
