CSBC Bihar Police Result 2026 Declared: Over 27,000 Candidates Qualify for Physical Tests Across Major Drives

In a major development for police job aspirants across Bihar, the Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC) officially declared the written examination results for three major recruitment drives. The announcements cover Constable (General Duty Close Cadre), Constable (Operator), and the combined recruitment for Prohibition Constable, Jail Warder (Kakshpal), and Mobile Squad Constable.

Candidates who took these examinations can verify their qualification status on the CSBC Official Portal. The board has made merit lists accessible via PDF format containing the roll numbers of all candidates who have been shortlisted for the physical testing rounds.

Detailed Post-Wise Breakdown of Results

The CSBC conducted written evaluations to fill thousands of security, technical, and custodial vacancies across various Bihar state government departments:

Prohibition Constable, Jail Warder, & Mobile Squad (Advt. No. 03/2025):

This massive recruitment drive covers a total of 4,236 posts, including 2,431 Jail Warders, 1,697 Prohibition Constables, and 108 Mobile Squad Constables. Over 11.43 lakh candidates originally registered for the exam. Following scrutiny, 5,34,735 candidates appeared across 544 examination centers in all 38 districts of Bihar on June 14 and June 17. The board disqualified 80 candidates for exam misconduct, leaving 5,34,669 valid answer sheets for evaluation. A total of 19,681 candidates successfully secured the qualifying threshold and have been shortlisted for physical testing.

Constable Operator – Technical Cadre (Advt. No. 02/2026):

Conducted for 993 vacant positions in the Bihar Police Telecommunication and Technical Cadre, the written examination was held on June 28. Out of 1,28,454 candidates who appeared for the test, 5,966 aspirants cleared the written stage. Board officials noted that the total shortlisted count slightly exceeded the standard 5-times quota due to tie scores at the cutoff mark.

Constable GD Close Cadre – Special Branch (Advt. No. 01/2026):

Targeting 83 specialized posts in the Special Branch of Bihar Police, the examination took place on June 24, drawing 64,408 candidates. Following rigorous evaluation, 254 candidates cleared the qualification standard to advance to the next selection round.

Reservation Policies and Shortlisting Standards

Selection rules were implemented according to state reservation frameworks. A 35% horizontal reservation was applied across all eligible categories for female residents of Bihar. Furthermore, candidates in all categories were required to secure a minimum threshold of 30% marks in the written examination to be eligible for shortlisting.

Next Stage: Physical Standard and Efficiency Tests (PST/PET)

Shortlisted candidates must now prepare for the second phase of recruitment:

  1. Physical Standard Test (PST): Officials will evaluate candidates’ physical qualifications, including height and chest measurements (for male candidates).

  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates will undergo physical performance evaluations, including a timed running test, high jump, and shot-put events.

CSBC officials confirmed that the detailed schedule, physical testing venue details, and admit card download links will be published on the official website soon.
