Delhi EWS admission 2026 final lottery results out: 4,144 students allotted schools

The Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of Delhi, on September 24, 2026, released the final computerised lottery results for admissions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories for the 2026-27 academic session. This final draw aims to allot seats in Nursery, KG, and Class 1 in private unaided recognised schools under the provisions of the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

A total of 4,144 students were allotted schools in Nursery, KG, and Class 1 through this final draw. Of these, 4,125 students belong to the EWS and DG categories, while 19 are from the CWSN category. The department also published draw results for EWS/Freeship admissions to Classes 3 to 9.

How to Check Final Allotment Results

Parents whose children applied for admission under these categories can access the final lottery results on the official EWS admission portal, ewsadmissions.delhi.gov.in, and the DoE website, edudel.nic.in. The merit or allotment list includes crucial details such as the child’s registration number, name, school ID, and the name of the allotted school.

Following the allotment, selected students are required to complete document verification and admission formalities at their respective private unaided recognised schools. The DoE has also issued guidelines for the verification of documents and admission process for these students, dated September 24, 2026.

Category-Wise Student Allotments

The final draw saw a significant number of students securing admissions across the entry-level classes. For Nursery, 1,306 EWS/DG students and 3 CWSN students were allotted schools. In the KG class, 586 EWS/DG students and 1 CWSN student received allotments. Class 1 saw 2,233 EWS/DG students and 15 CWSN students being allotted schools.

Admission Process and Eligibility

The admission process for the 2026-27 academic session commenced with online applications from February 21 to March 23, 2026. This final draw follows earlier rounds, including the first computerised draw of lots released on April 6, 2026, and the second round lottery result for EWS/DG/CWSN admissions released on July 10, 2026. The computerised draw of lots is conducted to ensure transparency in seat allotment.

For EWS applicants, the household annual income eligibility limit for the 2026-27 admission process was Rs 5 lakh. Age criteria as of March 31, 2026, were 3 to 5 years for Nursery, 4 to 6 years for KG, and 5 to 7 years for Class 1. Required documents for verification include the child’s birth certificate, address proof, income certificate (for EWS), caste/category certificate (if applicable), disability certificate (for CWSN), and passport-size photographs.
