Delhi EWS, DG, CWSN lottery results out for Nursery, KG, Class 1 admissions

The Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of NCT of Delhi, today, September 25, 2026, released the final lottery results for admissions to Nursery, KG, and Class 1 under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories for the academic session 2026-27. These allotments are for private unaided schools across Delhi, conducted under the provisions of the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Parents and guardians can check and download the final school allotment lists from the official DoE website, edudel.nic.in. The merit/allotment list includes essential details such as the registration number, the child’s name, the school ID, and the name of the allotted school. The final draw PDFs are specifically available in the EWS/DG admission section of the website.

Allotment Figures for Entry-Level Admissions

The final draw has resulted in the allocation of seats across various categories and classes. For Nursery admissions, 1,306 students from the EWS and DG categories have been allotted schools. Also, three students under the CWSN category have received Nursery admissions. In the KG class, 586 students from the EWS and DG categories were allotted schools, alongside one CWSN student.

For Class 1 admissions, the DoE included 2,233 children under the EWS and DG categories in the final draw. Also, 15 children under the CWSN category have been allotted schools for Class 1. These figures represent the successful candidates selected through the computerised lottery draw for entry-level admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.

Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria

The selection process for these admissions is purely based on a computerised draw of lots. The first draw was conducted on April 6, 2026, followed by a second computerised lottery draw on July 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM, to fill seats that remained vacant after the initial round due to non-reporting or document rejection. The current announcement pertains to the final draw results.

For the EWS/DG category, children must be between three and five years for Nursery, four and six years for KG, and five and seven years for Class 1 as of March 1, 2026. For the CWSN category, the age limit is three to seven years for Nursery, four to eight years for KG, and five to nine years for Class 1. Children with an annual family income of less than ₹5 lakh are eligible under the EWS category. The DG category includes children from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC Non-Creamy Layer), orphans, transgender children, and those affected by HIV. The allotted school is prohibited from conducting any further screening and must admit the child once documents are in order. Failure to report or complete verification within the stipulated period may lead to the cancellation of the allotted seat.

Key Dates for the 2026-27 Academic Session

The admission process for the 2026-27 academic session has spanned several months, beginning with the application submission and progressing through multiple lottery draws. Parents whose children have been allotted schools must now complete the reporting and document verification process as per the deadlines to be notified by the DoE.
