IBSAT 2026 registration open: apply by December 19 for MBA, PhD admissions

ICFAI Business School (IBS) has opened the registration window for IBSAT 2026, its annual aptitude test for admission to MBA and Ph.D. programmes. The application process, which began on July 1, 2026, is expected to remain open until the third week of December 2026. Prospective candidates are specifically advised to submit their applications on or before December 19, 2026.

IBSAT 2026 is a national-level examination conducted once a year by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education. It serves as the gateway for admissions to MBA and Ph.D. programmes at IBS Hyderabad and Bangalore, MBA programmes at IBS Dehradun and Jaipur, and PGPM programmes at the other five ICFAI Business Schools. Approximately 25,000 applications were received in previous years for this examination.

IBSAT 2026 Application and Examination Schedule

The registration for IBSAT 2026 commenced on July 1, 2026, and the application period is projected to extend until the third week of December 2026. While the exact day-wise exam dates have not yet been officially announced, the examination is expected to take place in December 2026. The IBSAT 2026 admit card is anticipated to be released in the first week of October 2026, with slot booking available from November 6, 2026, until the examination dates. The IBSAT 2026 result is tentatively scheduled for the first week of January 2027.

Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the official IBS admission portal for confirmed dates and any potential revisions to the schedule. The application fee for IBSAT is ₹1800, and registration can be completed both online and offline. The official IBSAT notification for 2026 will be released on the official website, and a mock test will be held from November to December 2026.

Exam Pattern and Eligibility Criteria

The IBSAT 2026 exam is a two-hour, online, home-proctored computer-based test. It consists of 140 multiple-choice questions distributed across four sections: Verbal Ability (50 questions), Reading Comprehension (30 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (30 questions), and Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation (30 questions). Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect responses. The exam is generally considered to be of moderate difficulty.

To be eligible for IBSAT 2026, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks. Final-year graduation students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements before the deadline set for the 2026 cycle. There is no age limit for appearing in the IBSAT exam, and work experience is not mandatory. Candidates with valid GMAT, CAT, or NMAT by GMAC scores are exempt from IBSAT and can apply directly for admission.

Post-Examination Process and Important Instructions

Following the examination in December 2026, the IBSAT 2026 result is tentatively scheduled for the first week of January 2027. The IBSAT scorecard will be available for download from the official website around January 5, 2027. The selection briefing is expected in January 2027, with the Micro Presentation and Personal Interview rounds anticipated in February 2027. The final selection results will be announced later.

Candidates are advised to verify the final schedule through the official IBS admission website before making any travel, preparation, or admission decisions. The official IBSAT FAQ currently advises applicants to apply on or before December 19, 2026, which should be considered the working deadline unless a revised date is published by ICFAI Business School. The exam evaluates skills in Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, and Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation, with scores accepted for both MBA and PhD programmes offered by ICFAI Business Schools.
