IIM Bangalore’s Corporate Collaboration History
IIM Bangalore has a history of active corporate involvement in the design and delivery of its long-duration programmes. This engagement has contributed to the institute’s strong placement record and industry relevance. For instance, in the early 1990s, IIM Bangalore initiated a nine-month certificate programme, ‘Management Programme for Technologist’ (MPT), which trained approximately 350 managers over a decade.
Further demonstrating this collaboration, the Post Graduate Programme in Software Enterprise Management (PGSEM) was conceptualized with IT industry leaders, leading to about 1,200 software professionals completing the programme over 15 years. The Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) was also started in 2009 after extensive industry consultations, and feedback from corporate leaders has consistently led to the strengthening of Career Development Services at IIM Bangalore. Many courses include significant project components addressing real-life organizational problems, with organizations frequently requesting IIM Bangalore to float student projects on their behalf.
