The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has rescheduled the Special Stray Vacancy Round of NEET SS Counselling 2025, with registration and choice filling concluding on September 30, 2026. This rescheduling follows the addition of 33 vacant in-service seats from Tamil Nadu to the All India counselling seat matrix.

Concurrently, the MCC also announced the removal of 13 seats from the Super Speciality (SS) Counselling 2025 seat matrix for this special round. These seats were withdrawn due to identified duplicate entries and an instance of offline admission by an institute.

Rescheduling and Inclusion of Tamil Nadu SEATS

The Special Stray Vacancy Round of NEET SS Counselling 2025 was rescheduled to accommodate the inclusion of 33 vacant in-service seats from Tamil Nadu. These seats were reverted by the Tamil Nadu State Selection Committee for the All India counselling seat matrix after the completion of the state’s Stray Vacancy Round for in-service seats.

This addition complies with the Supreme Court’s order issued on September 17, 2026, in the case of Tamil Nadu Medical Officers Association & Anr Vs. Union of India & Ors., W.P. (Civil) No. 771 of 2026. The revised schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round provided candidates with specific timelines for various activities:

Withdrawal of 13 SEATS from the Matrix

In a separate announcement, the MCC confirmed the removal of 13 seats from the seat matrix for the Special Stray Round of Super Speciality (SS) Counselling 2025. This decision was made before the commencement of seat processing for the round.

Of the 13 withdrawn seats, 12 were identified as duplicate entries across various institutes in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. One DNBSS Nephrology seat from NU Hospitals, Bengaluru, was removed due to information received by the MCC regarding an offline admission made by the concerned institute. Candidates participating in this round have been advised to consider this revised seat position when making their choices.
