IIT JAM 2026 Additional & Final Allocation on 6th & 7th July 2026

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay commenced the IIT JAM 2026 Additional and Final Seat Allocation process. It will go on from July 6July 7 2026. Conducted via the Joint Admission Process for MSc (JOAPS) portal, this marks the final stage of the IIT JAM 2026 admission process. Candidates who are eligible for the additional round should log in to their JOAPS accounts to check their allotment status.

IIT JAM 2026 Additional and Final Seat Allocation By IIT Bombay

IIT Bombay has officially announced that the Additional / Final Round of Seat Allocation for IIT JAM 2026 will be held on July 6 and July 7, 2026. The institute has also clarified that the admission process will conclude after this additional round, making it the final opportunity for eligible candidates to secure admission through the centralized counselling process.

The additional round follows the release of the Additional Admission List on July 3 and aims to fill seats that remained vacant after the completion of the four regular admission rounds.

Who Is Eligible for IIT JAM 2026 Additional Round?

The additional round is meant for candidates who remain eligible under the JOAPS admission process after the completion of the regular counselling rounds. No fresh registration or choice filling is permitted at this stage, and seat allocation is carried out based on the choices already submitted by candidates during the admission process. Allocation is subject to seat availability and the admitting institute’s eligibility requirements.

Candidates who have withdrawn from the admission process before the prescribed deadline are not considered for further seat allocation.

Candidates can check their seat allotment by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official IIT JAM 2026 website.
  2. Click on the JOAPS candidate login portal.
  3. Enter your Enrollment ID and Password.
  4. Open the admission dashboard.
  5. Check your seat allotment status.
  6. If allotted a seat, complete the required admission formalities and download the offer letter once it becomes available.

What Happens After IIT JAM 2026 Final Seat Allocation?

Candidates allotted a seat in the additional round must complete the required admission formalities within the stipulated timeline. Those required to pay the seat booking fee should do so by July 7, while offer letters will be available for download from July 9 through the JOAPS portal. Thereafter, candidates must report to their respective admitting institutes according to the institute-specific schedule for document verification and completion of admission.

IIT JAM 2026 Admission Process Ends After Final Round

According to IIT Bombay, the Additional and Final Seat Allocation is the concluding stage of IIT JAM 2026 admissions. Once this round is completed, no further centralized admission rounds will be conducted through JOAPS. Candidates who are still awaiting admission should therefore closely monitor the portal during July 6 and 7.

IIT JAM 2026 Syllabus

The IIT JAM 2026 (Joint Admission Test for Masters) is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to postgraduate science programmes offered by IITs and other participating institutes. It was conducted on 15th February 2026. For the 2026 admission cycle, the examination covers seven test papers, each with a separate syllabus and exam pattern prescribed by IIT Bombay.
