The National Testing Agency (NTA) is tentatively scheduled to release the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 syllabus in the last week of October or the first week of November 2026. The official syllabus will be made available for download on the NTA’s official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. This release is expected to coincide with the commencement of the application process for the 2027 examination cycle.

The JEE Main examination serves as a gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions, and also functions as a qualifying examination for JEE Advanced 2027. The syllabus typically covers Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 curricula, testing conceptual understanding.

JEE Main 2027 Syllabus Structure and Expected Content

The JEE Main 2027 syllabus is not expected to undergo major changes from the 2026 structure. The NTA has maintained a stable syllabus structure since the 2026 examination, with 20 units in Physics, 20 in Chemistry, and 14 in Mathematics. The Physics syllabus includes Experimental Skills, while Chemistry covers Physical, Inorganic, and Organic Chemistry.

Topics previously removed from the syllabus include Communication Systems in Physics; States of Matter, Surface Chemistry, Hydrogen, s-Block Elements, Isolation of Metals, Environmental Chemistry, Polymers, and Chemistry in Everyday Life from Chemistry; and Mathematical Induction, Mathematical Reasoning, and Linear Programming from Mathematics. Candidates are advised to refer to the JEE Main 2026 syllabus as a temporary guide until the 2027 version is officially released.
